The ribbed effect comes from working only in the back loop of each crochet stitch.

Play around with different colors and you can make a colorful Ribbed Headband.
Start with a slip knot.
Chain 10.
Single Crochet in the 2nd Chain from the hook.
Chain 1 and turn.
Now you will be working only in the back loops. Single Crochet in the Back Loops all around.
This creates the ribbed pattern.
See...now its taking shape.
Most headbands are flexible.
Not sure about what size to make???Head sizes vary from person to person. To measure your head circumference, wrap a tape measure around your head from your forehead, above your ears and around the back, then round back to the forehead again.
But what if you want to make it for someone else??? I found this amazing chart with size details by Susie from Oui Crochet.
Check out the Headband size details here.
Once you reach the length needed, join both the ends with slip stitches.
Add a embellishment of your choice. I added a wooden button.
Cool! i need to make a few of these for my daughter!
