Easy Crochet Table Runner Pattern with Shell Stitch


A crocheted table runner is the perfect project to add elegance and jazz up your home decor. Crochet Table runners are an easy way to change the look of your table. They are often quite easy and quick to make. There are many options to make a crochet table runner. You can very well color coordinate them according to holiday festive season and also match them your home decor.

Homemade table runners are quite appealing and pleasing. Here is a quick and Easy Crochet Table Runner Pattern with Shell Stitch. The pattern is very simple and is worked with repeat of One Row. This makes it fun to work with and quite easy for beginners too.

Materials Used:-
4 Ply Cotton Knitting Yarn
4 mm Crochet Hook

Size:-
12 / 35  inches- Customizable to any size

Lets Start ...!!!!

Round 1:-
Start with a Slip Knot.
Chain 60 + 3 Chains for the turning chain.
This measures around 12 inches.
You can adjust the size of the blanket by altering these stitches according to your requirement.
Start with any multiple of 6 + 3 chains extra for the turning chain.



Round 2:-
1 Single Crochet in the Second Chain from the hook.
1 Single Crochet each in the remaining stitches.
Once you reach end, Chain 3 and turn your work.




Round 3:-
Skip 3 stitches.
In the next stitch make,( 3 Double Crochets, Chain 2 , 3 Double Crochets).
Skip 5 Stitches.
In the next stitch make,( 3 Double Crochets, Chain 2 , 3 Double Crochets).
Repeat((3DC, Ch 2, 3DC), Skip 5).
You should have 3 stitches left in the end.
Make 1 Double Crochet in the last stitch.
Chain 3 and Turn your work.






Round 4:-
We will be working only in the Chain 2 spaces.
Directly go into the chain 2 space and make (3 Double Crochets , Chain 2, 3 Double Crochets).
Repeat(3DC, Ch 2, 3DC) in each of the Chain 2 spaces.
Once you reach the end , Make 1 Double Crochet on top of the Chain 3.
Chain 3 and turn your work.



Round 5:-
Keep repeating Round 4 untill the size needed.






Here is the Summary of the Pattern:-

Round 1:-

Repeat(3DC, Ch 2, 3DC) in each of the Ch 2 spaces.
Once you reach the end , Make 1 DC on top of the Ch 3.
Ch 3 and turn your work.

Round 5:-
Keep repeating Round 4 untill the size needed.

      You can end with one row of Chain Stitches and the other row with single crochets. This will look same as the starting.
      Eg:-
      1- Repeat (Chain 3 , 1 SC on top of the shell)
      2. 1 SC in each stitch and weave off.

  4. My table runner turned out beautifully. I would like to crochet a straight edge across the last row. How would I do that?

  5. I’m a relatively new crochet fan. I’m almost done this table runner, but I’m confused about how to finish it off so both ends look the same. I read the instructions given, but I need to see it being done. Could someone post a tutorial on how to finish the end? It would be very helpful. Thank you!
