Easy Going Crochet Table Runner Part of The Table Decor with a Story Blog Hop





A Handcrafted Crochet Table Runner is a splendid way to add a bit of personal touch to your dining area. With the festive season around, now is the best time to whip up some Holiday Themed Crochet Crafts. Many Crocheters love making Crocheted Table Runners because of how simple they are to make and they turn out so elegant when finished.

Today am sharing the pattern for Easy Going Crochet Table Runner. I made this as part of the Table Decor with a Story Blog Hop with Sandra StitchesIts a Two Row Repeat Pattern made with the basic crochet stitches. Its a quick working pattern and beginner friendly.

You can Crochet this Table Runner at any time of the year. Crocheted Table Runners are versatile. Whip it up with any yarn color of your choice to suit any festive occasion or theme.




Materials Used:-
4 Ply Knitting Yarn - 1 Skein
4 mm Crochet Hook

Size:-
Base - 8 inches - Customizable to any size
Length - 30 Inches - Customizable to any size

Let's Start:-

Round 1:-
Start with a Slip Knot.
Chain 40.
You can adjust the size by altering these stitches according to your requirement.
Start with any Multiple of 8.


Round 2:-
1 Double Crochet in the 4th Chain from the hook.
1 Double Crochet each in the remaining stitches.
Once you reach end, Chain 2 and use the Straight Edge Turning Chain method to make the Turning Chain.

Straight Edge Turning Chain:-
Usually you would Chain 2, turn and start working the next round. Here is a quick tip to have a nice straight edge .
  • Insert the hook into the 1st chain from the bottom.
  • Yarn over and pull up a loop. You should have 2 loops on the hook.
  • Turn your project and insert the hook into the first stitch.
  • Yarn over and pull up a loop. You will have 3 loops on the hook.
  • Again, yarn over and pull through 2 loops. You will have 2 loops on the hook.
  • Lastly, yarn over and pull through 2 loops.
  • This will make one Double Crochet.

Round 3:-
1 Double Crochet  is already made with the Turning Chain.
Skip 1 Stitch.
In the next stitch make - 1 Double Crochet V-Stitch(i.e.1 Double Crochet, Chain 1, 1 Double Crochet ).
Skip 3 stitches.
1 Shell Stitch(i.e.5 Double Crochets) in the next Stitch.
Skip 3.
Repeat(1DC V-St, Sk3,1 Shell St)
1 Double Crochet in the last Stitch.
Once you reach end, Chain 2 and use the Straight Edge Turning Chain method mentioned in the previous round to make the Turning Chain.

Round 4:-
1 Double Crochet  is already made with the Turning Chain.
1 Double Crochet in each stitch.
Once you reach end, Chain 2 and use the Straight Edge Turning Chain method to make the Turning Chain.

Round 5 Onwards:-
Keep repeating Round 3 and Round 4 untill the size needed and Weave off.


Here is the Summary of the Pattern:-

Round 1:-

In the next St make - 1DC V-St(i.e.1DC,Ch1,1DC).
Skip 3 Sts.
1 Shell St(i.e.5 DCs) in the next St.
Skip 3.
Repeat(1DC V-St, Sk3,1 Shell St)
1DC in the last St.
Once you reach end, Ch2 and use the Straight Edge Turning Ch method mentioned in the previous round to make the Turning Ch.

Round 4:-
1DC is already made with the Turning Ch.
1DC in each St.
Once you reach end, Ch2 and use the Straight Edge Turning Ch method to make the Turning Ch.

Round 5 Onwards:-
Keep repeating Round 3 and Round 4 untill the size needed and Weave off.
