Quick and Easy Textured Crochet Washcloth



Crochet Washcloth or Dishcloth patterns are awesomely easy and quick to make projects Hence they are a favorite among many Crocheters. Crocheted Washcloth patterns are great for using up your scrap yarn .

Today am sharing the pattern for Quick and Easy Textured Crochet Washcloth. Often Simple stitches combined with each other makes amazing crochet patterns. This washcloth pattern is made with Double Crochet Cluster Stitch combined with Single Crochets.

These two stitches combined together gives the washcloth a rich texture and bulk. Its a One Row Repeat pattern which makes it even more effortless to whip up. With the festive season going on , you can change the yarn color to suit any festive occasion ,be it Christmas or Thanksgiving. They are great for making last minute gifts for your loved ones.

Let's Start:-

Round 1:-
Start with a Slip Knot.
Chain 21.
You can adjust the size by altering these stitches according to your requirement.
Start with any multiple of 3.

Round 2:-
1 Single Crochet in the 2nd Chain from the hook.
1 Single Crochet each in the remaining stitches.
Once you reach end, Chain 2 and use the Straight Edge Turning Chain to make the turning chain.

Straight Edge Turning Chain:-
Usually you would Chain 2, turn and start working the next round. Here is a quick tip to have a nice straight edge .
  • Insert the hook into the 1st chain from the bottom.
  • Yarn over and pull up a loop. You should have 2 loops on the hook.
  • Turn your project and insert the hook into the first stitch.
  • Yarn over and pull up a loop. You will have 3 loops on the hook.
  • Again, yarn over and pull through 2 loops. You will have 2 loops on the hook.
  • Lastly, yarn over and pull through 2 loops.
  • This will make one Double Crochet.

Round 3:-
1 Double Crochet is already made while making the turning chain.
Skip 1 Stitch.
In the next stitch make - (1 Double Crochet Cluster Stitch, Chain 2, 1 Single Crochet)
Skip 2 stitch.
Repeat(1DC Cluster, Ch2,1SC,Sk2).
At the end you will have 2 stitches left.
Skip 1 Stitch.
1 Double Crochet in the last stitch.
Once you reach the end ,Chain 2 and use the Straight Edge Turning chain mentioned in the previous round to make the turning chain.

How to Make a Double Crochet Cluster Stitch.... ???:-
  1. Yarn over, insert the hook into the stitch, yarn over and pull through 2 loops on the hook.(This is same as doing a Double Crochet Stitch. It is just that , you don't finish the Double Crochet Stitch and continue doing the first part of the Double Crochet Stitch again and again).You should have 2 loops on the hook.
  2. Yarn over, insert the hook in the same stitch, yarn over and pull through 2 loops. You should have 3 loops on the hook.
  3. Continue with the first part of Double Crochet stitch untill you have 4 loops on the hook.
  4. Yarn over and draw the yarn through all 4 loops on the hook.
  5. This makes 1 Double Crochet Cluster Stitch.

Round 4:-
**This Round Onwards We Will Be Working Only into the Chain 2 Spaces.
1 Double Crochet is already made while making the turning chain.
In the next Chain 2 space make -(1 Double Crochet Cluster Stitch, Chain 2, 1 Single Crochet)
Repeat(1DC Cluster, Ch2,1SC) into each of the Ch2 space.
1 Double Crochet in the last stitch.
Once you reach the end ,Chain 2 and use the Straight Edge Turning chain to make the turning chain.

Round 5 Onwards:-
Keep repeating Round 4 untill its Square in shape.
Chain 1 and turn your work.

Border:-
1 Single Crochet in each stitch and Weave off.

Here is the Summary of the Pattern:- 

Round 1:-

1DC is already made while making the turning Ch.
Sk1 St.
In the next St make-(1DC Cluster St,Ch2,1SC)
Sk2 St.
Repeat(1DC Cluster,Ch2,1SC,Sk2).
At the end you will have 2 Sts left.
Sk1 St.
1DC in the last St.
Once you reach the end ,Ch2 and use the Straight Edge Turning Ch mentioned in the previous round to make the turning Ch.

How to Make a DC Cluster St.... ???:-
Yarn over, insert the hook into the St, yarn over and pull through 2 loops on the hook.(This is same as doing a DC St. It is just that , you don't finish the DC St and continue doing the first part of the DC St again and again).You should have 2 loops on the hook.
Yarn over, insert the hook in the same St, yarn over and pull through 2 loops. You should have 3 loops on the hook.
Continue with the first part of DC St untill you have 4 loops on the hook.
Yarn over and draw the yarn through all 4 loops on the hook.
This makes 1DC Cluster St.

Round 4:-
**This Round Onwards We Will Be Working Only into the Ch2 Spaces.
1DC is already made while making the turning Ch.
In the next Ch2 space make -(1DC Cluster St,Ch2,1SC)
Repeat(1DC Cluster,Ch2,1SC) into each of the Ch2 space.
1DC in the last St.
Once you reach the end ,Ch2 and use the Straight Edge Turning Ch to make the turning Ch.

Round 5 Onwards:-
Keep repeating Round 4 untill its Square in shape.
Ch1 and turn your work.

Border:-
1SC in each St and Weave off.
