With Easter right around the corner, wouldn't this be the best time to whip up some Bunny Projects. I have been busy making some Bunny related projects. Today I am sharing the pattern for this Adorable Messy Bun Bunny Applique Crochet Ribbed Hat. This has to be the most easy and quick hat to whip up.
As the name suggests, this Messy Bun hat has a hole at the top for your up-do hairstyle. They are really fun to make. The ribbed effect comes from working only in the back loop of each crochet stitch. This hat pattern is freestyle and can be easily customised. You can make it for Babies and Adults. You will just have to change the number of starting chain stitches. I have finished the hat by stitching a Bunny Applique to the bottom.
Materials Used:-
For Hat
- Bulky Yarn
- 6 mm Crochet Hook
- Hair Tie
For Bunny Applique:-
- Medium Weighted Yarn( Pink, White and Black)
- 4 mm Crochet Hook
- Tapestry Needle
Let's start!!!!!
Chain 25 Plus Chain 2 (Turning chains)
With this bulky yarn my chain measures up to 9 inches.
I made this hat for a 5 year old. You can change the size by accordingly changing these starting chains.
1 Double Crochet in the Second Chain from the hook.
1 Double Crochet each in the remaining stitches untill you reach the hair tie.
1 Single Crochet around the Hair Tie.
Turn your work.
Now work only in the Back Loops. This will give the Ribbed look.
Once you reach the end, Chain 2 and Turn your work.
Keep working Back Loop Double Crochet untill you reach the size needed.
Stretch the base to measure your hat.
I made to 22 inches.
You can also use a tapestry needle to stitch the seams together.
Once you reach the top, single crochet around the hair tie to close and gaps if seen.
This would give the hat a neat look.
Fold the brim of the hat and sew on the Bunny applique.
I have already shared the Tutorial for Bunny Applique. I have also shared the Video tutorial. Check it out Below.
