Kiwi and Watermelon Coasters




Crochet coasters are among the easiest patterns to make.A basket of fruit always provides a fresh touch and its always fun to make crochet fruits coasters.These fruit coasters of course make a perfect theme for coasters, which are most often used during meals. 

This pattern is ideal if you are new to crochet, as you only need to know basic stitches, single crochet....double crochet and how to slip stitch!!!

Materials Used:-

For Watermelon Coaster
For Kiwi Coaster

If you are still new to crocheting or If you have had a long gap in crocheting and just want to brush up on your skills,then there are there are plenty of online crochet classes you can check out and try. They would be good for learning new techniques as well.


There are lots and lots of books as well you can browse on.

So...lets start with the watermelon coaster...!!!

Round 1:-
Start with a magic circle with the Red Yarn.


Make 12 Double Crochet in the circle. Pull the loose end to close the gap.Make sure to pull it tight.

Start Each Round with a Standing Double Crochet.




Round 2:-
Make 2 Double Crochet in each stitch around.(24)
Slip stitch at end to join.




Round 3:-

Change to Green Yarn

*DC1, 2DC* in next stitch(36)
Slip stitch at end to join.
Repeat from * to *.




With Black Yarn, Sew on the seeds from the center to sideways.

Kiwi Coaster:-

Round 1:-
Start with a magic circle with the cream yarn.

Make 12 Double Crochet in the circle. Pull the loose end to close the gap.Make sure to pull it tight.

You can start each round with a Standing Double Crochet or the usual Chain 2 method.


Round 2:-
Start with the green yarn.
Make 2 Double Crochet in each stitch around.(24)
Slip stitch at end to join.






Round 3:-
*DC1, 2DC* in next stitch(36)
Slip stitch at end to join.
Repeat from * to *.



Round 4:-
*DC2, 2DC* in next stitch(48)
Slip stitch at end to join.
Repeat from * to *.




Round 5:-
Change to Brown Yarn.
Join the yarn and work 1 Single crochet on each stitch around and slip stitch to join.



Now, with the Black yarn, stitch the spikes from the center to the sideways to make the seeds.
