Teddy Bear Crochet Pillow

Who doesn't love Teddy Bears..... be it any kid or an adult.....We all are crazy for Teddy Bears. They are just too cute to be avoided. This cute faced Crochet Teddy Bear pillow will make a great decor for your rooms or this would make a great gift for any kid.

The pattern is very easy to make. You can easily make one in just under and hour. I used Fuzzy Chenille Baby yarn. I absolutely love this yarn. They are just so soft and quick to work with. Make This Adorable Crochet Teddy Bear Pillow to snuggle up with.

Materials Used:-
  • Fuzzy Chenille Yarn(for Body)
  • Any Medium Ply Yarn (Black and Cream) for Eyes and Muzzle
  • 5 mm Crochet Hook
  • Tapestry Needle
  • Fibrefill

This Pillow measures 15 inches. But you can easily customize it to any size. I will provide you the details on how to make the increase rounds.

I have given a summary of the pattern at the end of this post.

Here is the Video Tutorial :-

I stopped the increase at this  round.
If want to make a bigger sized pillow , then you can keep increasing the rounds.

The increase pattern will b as below:-

Start each round with chain 2(not counted as a stitch)
Round 8 - *(1DC,1DC,1DC,1DC,1DC,1DC,2DC)-96 Stitches

Round 11 - *(1DC,1DC,1DC,1DC,1DC,1DC,1DC,1DC,1DC,2DC)-132 Stitches
.....and so on...

Make two of these. One for front and one for back. We will join these two with single crochet.

Eyes:-(Make Two)
Start with a Magic Circle.
12 Double Crochet.
Slip Stitch on top of the 1st Double Crochet.

Using a tapestry needle sew the reflection point of the eye with the cream color yarn.

Using the Black Yarn Sew the Muzzle and the Smiley.

Sew the muzzle right at the center.

Use Long Chain stitches to sew the Smiley.

Place the eyes proportionately and sew them with the Black Yarn.

Now, take the back side of the pillow and join them with single crochet stitches.

Be sure to place the wrong sides facing each other.

Once there is a small opening left, stuff the pillow with the fibrefill.

.......continue with the single crochets and close the opining. Secure it properly.

Ears:-(Make Two):-

Round 1:-
Start with Magic Circle.
12 Double Crochet in the Circle.
Pull the yarn end to close the gap.

Round 2:-

2 Double Crochet in each stitch around.
Slip stitch on top of the 1st Double Crochet.
24 stitches

Round 3:-

1 Double in each stitch around.
24 stitches
Round 4:-

Repeat*(1DC, 1DC Decrease)

To make a Double Crochet Decrease:-
  1. To make a decrease double crochet, yarn over and draw up a loop in. Yarn over and pull yarn through two loops on the hook. This is the first part of a double crochet stitch.
  2. Instead of completing the double crochet, start making a second double crochet stitch.Yarn over and draw up a loop in the next stitch, then yarn over and pull yarn through two loops on the hook.
  3. Yarn over and pull yarn through the remaining three loops on the hook.
  4. Decrease is complete and this counts as one stitch.

Sew the Ears on to the Bear.

Weave off the yarn ends.

There you go!!!!!!...... You teddy is ready !!!!!

  2. What an adorable pattern. I like the softer yarn suggestion. Sometimes yarn can make for a scratchy pillow but this looks like it would be nice and soft.

  4. I normally stay away from fuzzy yarn when crocheting as it can be difficult to see the stitches but I think this gorgeous cushion would be well worth the extra effort. This will be one of the features at Handmade Monday next week :-)
