Crochet Textured Granny Square Block


There are many different ways to transform and tweak a Crochet Granny Square. This makes the Granny Square the most sought out project among many crocheters. Join up the squares to make blankets of any size or simply use it individually as crochet coasters. You can also use them for making Crocheted Clothing Accessories and Home Decor accessories .Either way ,Crochet Granny Square blocks are fun to make. 

Today am sharing the pattern for Crochet Textured Granny Square Block. This pattern is started off in a circle worked in rounds and finished off in a Square Shape. The pattern is made with simple stitches and works up super quick.




Materials Used:-
8 Ply Yarn
4 mm Crochet Hook

Size:-
5 inches

Notes:-
For this whole Pattern, the Starting Chain 2 is not counted as a stitch. 
It is Just to bring the yarn to a working height. 
Start the next stitch in the same stitch.

Lets Start ...!!!!

Round 1:-
Start with a Magic Circle.
Chain 2.
12 Double Crochets in the circle.
Pull the yarn end to close the gap.
Slip Stitch on top of the first Double Crochet.
12 Stitches.




Round 2:-

Chain 2.
2 Double Crochets in each stitch around.
Slip stitch on top of the first Double Crochet.
24 stitches.



Round 3:-
Chain 2. 1 Double Crochet in the same stitch.
2 Double Crochets in the next stitch.
Repeat(1DC, 2DC).
Slip Stitch on top of the first Double Crochet.
Change the yarn color while making the slip stitch.
36 Stitches.



Round 4:-
**This round , we will be making the stitches only into the Third Back Loop of the stitch.
Chain 2.
(2 Double Crochets , Chain 1, 2 Double Crochets in the next stitch) - that's the 1st Corner made.
1 Half Double Crochet each in the next 2 Stitches.
1 Single Crochet each in the next 3 Stitches.
1 Half Double Crochet each in the next 2 Stitches.
Repeat((2DC,Ch1,2DC in the next St),1HDC*2,1SC*3,1HDC*2)
Slip Stitch on top of the first Double Crochet.
44 Stitches, 4 Chain 1 spaces.











Round 5:-
Chain 2.
1 Double Crochet in each stitch untill you reach the Corner.
In the Chain 1 Space make - (2 Double Crochets, Chain 2, 2 Double Crochets)- that's the corner made.
Repeat(1DC in each stitch untill corner),(2DC,Ch2,2dc)-in corner stitches)
Slip Stitch on top of the first Double Crochet .






Round 6:-
Chain 2.
Alternate 1 Front Post Double Crochet,1 Back Post Double Crochet in the next stitch untill the the corner.
In the Chain 2 Space make - (2 Double Crochets, Chain 2, 2 Double Crochets)- that's the corner made.
Repeat(1FPDC,1BPDC) in each St untill corner,
(2DC,Ch2,2DC)-in corner stitches)
Slip Stitch on top of the first Front Post Double Crochet and weave off.











Here is the Summary of the Pattern:-

Round 1:-
Start with a Magic Circle.
Ch 2.
12 DCs in the circle.
Pull the yarn end to close the gap.
SL on top of the first DC.
12 Sts.

Round 2:-
Ch 2.
2 DCs in each St around.
SL on top of the first DC.
24 Sts.

Round 3:-
Ch 2. 1 DC in the same St.
2 DCs in the next St.
Repeat(1DC, 2DC).
SL on top of the first DC.
Change the yarn color while making the SL St.
36 Sts.

Round 4:-
**This round , we will be making the Sts only into the Third Back Loop of the St.
Ch 2.
(2 DCs , Ch 1, 2 DCs in the next St) - that's the 1st Corner made.
1 Half DC each in the next 2 Sts.
1 Single Crochet each in the next 3 Sts.
1 Half DC each in the next 2 Sts.
Repeat((2DC,Ch1,2DC in the next St),1HDC*2,1SC*3,1HDC*2)
SL on top of the first DC.
44 Sts, 4 Ch 1 spaces.

Round 5:-
Ch 2.
1 DC in each St untill you reach the Corner.
In the Ch 1 Space make - (2DCs,Ch2,2DCs)- that's the corner made.
Repeat(1DC in each St untill corner),(2DC,Ch2,2dc)-in corner Sts)
SL on top of the first DC .

Round 6:-
Ch 2.
Alternate 1 FPDC,1 Back Post DC in the next St untill the the corner.
In the Ch 2 Space make - (2DCs,Ch2,2DCs)- that's the corner made.
Repeat(1FPDC,1BPDC) in each St untill corner,
(2DC,Ch2,2DC)-in corner Sts)
SL on top of the first FPDC and weave off.
