Today am sharing the pattern for a quite easy and fun Halloween Project, Pumpkin Spice Doily Potholder. The pattern is fairly simple and quick to make with easy crochet stitches. The Orange and Green color would make perfect Halloween and Autumn fall decoration theme.

- 4 Ply Cotton Knitting Yarn
- 4mm Crochet Hook

For this whole Pattern, the Starting Chain 2 is not counted as a stitch. It is Just to bring the yarn to a working height. Start the next stitch in the same stitch.

Round 1 :-
Start with a Magic Circle.
12 Double Crochets in the circle.
12 Double Crochets in the circle.
Pull the yarn end to close the gap.
Slip Stitch on top of the first Double Crochet.
12 Stitches.
Round 2 :-
Chain 2.
1 Double Crochet Cluster
Chain 1
Repeat (1DC Cluster, Chain 1)
Slip Stitch on top of the First Double Crochet Cluster.
12 Cluster Stitches.
To Make a Double Crochet Cluster Stitch:-
- Yarn over, insert the hook into the stitch, yarn over and pull through 2 loops on the hook.(This is same as doing a Double Crochet Stitch. It is just that , you don't finish the Double Crochet Stitch and continue doing the first part of the Double Crochet Stitch again and again).You should have 2 loops on the hook.
- Yarn over, insert the hook in the same stitch, yarn over and pull through 2 loops. You should have 3 loops on the hook.
- Continue with the first part of Double Crochet stitch untill you have 4 loops on the hook.
- Yarn over and draw the yarn through all 4 loops on the hook.
- Chain 1.
Slip Stitch into the Chain space.
Chain 2
(1 Double Crochet Cluster, Chain 1, 1 Double Crochet Cluster) - all in the same space.
Chain 1
Repeat((1DC Cluster, Ch 1, 1 DC) - in same space, Ch 1)
Slip stitch on top of the First Double Crochet Cluster.
24 Cluster Stitches.
Round 4:-
Chain 2.
1 Front Post Double Crochet on the Cluster Stitch.
2 Double Crochets in the Chain space.
Repeat(1FPDC on Cluster, 2DC in the chain Space)
Slip stitch on top of the first Front Post Double Crochet.
Change Color while making the slip stitch.
72 Stitches.
Round 5 :-
Chain 4 (the starting chain 2 will be considered as 1 Double Crochet and the remaining stitches will be counted as Chain 2.
Skip 1 Stitch
1 Double Crochet in the next stitch.
Chain 2
Repeat(1DC, Skip 1, Chain 2)
Slip Stitch into the Second Chain.
Change Color while making the slip stitch.
36 Chain 2 spaces.
Border :-
Slip Stitch into the Chain Space.
Chain 2.
3 Double Crochets, Chain 2, 3 Double Crochets - all in the same space.
Slip Stitch into the next chain space.
Repeat((3DC, Ch2, 3DC),SL)
Slip stitch on top of the first Double Crochet and weave off.

1 FP DC on the Cluster Stitch.

SL on top of the first FP DC.
Change Color while making the SL.
72 Stitches.
Round 5 :-

Skip 1 Stitch
1 DC in the next stitch.

Change Color while making the SL.
