How To Make a Single Crochet Solid Triangle

Few days back I had shared the pattern for Double Crochet Triangle. When it comes to making a Crochet Triangle with Single Crochets, the stitch pattern and count changes a bit. There are of course many variations to making a Crochet Triangle. Today am sharing one of the Pattern for Single Crochet Solid Triangle Pattern in the Rounds.

These would be great to make Cat Ears for Crochet costumes and Headbands. You can also use them as appliques or you could create a bunch of them and stitch them together to larger sized projects like Crochet Blankets, Pillows, Placemats, Table Runners and Crochet Wall Hanging Buntings.

Materials Used:-

  • 8 Ply Yarn
  • 4mm Crochet Hook

Notes:-
For this whole pattern the starting Chain 1 is not counted as a stitch. It is just to bring the yarn to a working height.
Start the next stitch in the same stitch.

Here is the Video Tutorial:-

Round 1:-
Start with a Magic Circle.
Chain 1(Not Counted as a stitch.)
5 Single Crochets in the Magic Circle.
Pull the yarn end to close the gap.
Slip Stitch on top of the first Single Crochet.

Round 2:-
Chain 1.
3 Single Crochets in the same stitch.
Mark the middle stitch (i.e. the 2nd stitch) with a stitch marker.
This is the first corner
1 Single Crochet in the next stitch.
Repeat(3SC,1SC).
Mark the 2nd and 3rd corner as well with a stitch marker to keep a track of the stitches.
Slip stitch on top of the first Single Crochet.

Round 3:-
Chain 1.
1 Single Crochet.
3 Single Crochets in the marked stitch
Mark the new corner with a stitch marker.
1 Single Crochet each in the next stitches untill the next corner
Repeat(3SC(in the corners),1SC in each of the stitches).
Slip stitch on top of the first Single Crochet.

Round 4 Onwards:-
Keep repeating Round 3 untill the size needed.

Remember to:-
  • Start each round with Chain 1(Not counted as a stitch)
  • Start the next stitch in the same stitch.
  • 1 Single Crochet in each stitch untill the corner.
  • 3 Single Crochets in the corner stitches.
  • Slip stitch on top of the first Single Crochet.

  1. My triangle isn't flat. How can I fix that? Do I need to add stitches somewhere?
