Spring Green Space Easy Crochet Table Runner


A handmade Crochet Table Runner adds a special touch of personality and your own creativity to your dining space. Crochet table runners are one of the best ways to spruce up your space. A crocheted table runner is both functional and practical. A table runner helps protect the table surfaces and also adds elegance to it.

Today am sharing the pattern for Spring Green Space Easy Crochet Table Runner. Its a easy to follow pattern made with simple crochet stitches. You can easily adjust the size of the runner so you can adjust it any length you need in order to fit your space. You can even use different colors to match different seasons or occasions.

4 Ply Cotton Knitting Yarn
4 mm Crochet Hook

Size:-
Base - 10 inches - Customizable to any size
Length - Customizable to any size

Abbreviations Used:-
Ch - Chain
DC - Double Crochet
SC - Single Crochet
Sk - Skip
St/Sts - Stitch/Stitches
YO - Yarn Over
Sp - Space

Lets Start ...!!!!

Round 1:-
Start with a Slip Knot.
Chain 40.
This measures around 10 inches.
You can adjust the size by altering these stitches according to your requirement.
Start with any Multiple of 10.


Round 2:-
1 Double Crochet in the 5th Chain from the hook.
1 Double Crochet each in the remaining stitches.
Once you reach end, Chain 1 and  turn you work.

Round 3:-
1 Single Crochet in the 1st stitch.
Chain 3.
Skip 3 Stitches.
Repeat(1SC,Ch3,Sk3)
1 Single Crochet in the last stitch.
Once you reach end, Chain 2 and use the Straight Edge Turning Chain to make the turning chain.

Straight Edge Turning Chain:-
Usually you would Chain 2, turn and start working the next round. Here is a quick tip to have a nice straight edge .
  • Insert the hook into the 1st chain from the bottom.
  • Yarn over and pull up a loop. You should have 2 loops on the hook.
  • Turn your project and insert the hook into the first stitch.
  • Yarn over and pull up a loop. You will have 3 loops on the hook.
  • Again, yarn over and pull through 2 loops. You will have 2 loops on the hook.
  • Lastly, yarn over and pull through 2 loops.
  • This will make one Double Crochet.

Round 4:-
**This round we will be making the stitches only in the Single Crochet from previous round.
1 Double Crochet is already made while making the turning chain.
3 Double Crochet in the same stitch(that's total 4 Double Crochets)
In the next Single Crochet stitch make - (1 Single Crochet, Chain 3,3 Double Crochets)- all in the same stitch.
Repeat((1SC,Ch3,3DC)-all in the same stitch) in each of the Single Crochets.
1 Single Crochet in the last stitch.
Once you reach the end ,Chain 2 and use the Straight Edge Turning chain to make the turning chain.

Round 5:-
**This round we will be making the stitches only in the Chain 3 space from previous round.
(1 Double Crochet is already made while making the turning chain)
Chain 3.
1 Single Crochet in the next Chain 3 Space.
Chain 3
Repeat(1SC(into the Ch3 Sp),Ch3)
1 Single Crochet in the last stitch.
Once you reach the end ,Chain 2 and use the Straight Edge Turning chain to make the turning chain.

Round 6:-
**This round we will be making the stitches only in the Single Crochet from previous round.
1 Double Crochet is already made while making the turning chain.
3 Double Crochet in the same stitch(that's total 4 Double Crochets)
In the next Single Crochet stitch make - (1 Single Crochet, Chain 3,3 Double Crochets)- all in the same stitch.
Repeat((1SC,Ch3,3DC)-all in the same stitch) in each of the Single Crochets.
1 Single Crochet in the last stitch.
Once you reach the end ,Chain 2 and use the Straight Edge Turning chain to make the turning chain.

Round 7:-
**This round we will be making the stitches only in the Chain 3 space from previous round.
(1 Double Crochet is already made while making the turning chain)
Chain 3.
1 Single Crochet in the next Chain 3 Space.
Chain 3
Repeat(1SC(into the Ch3 Sp),Ch3)
1 Single Crochet in the last stitch.
Once you reach the end ,Chain 2 and use the Straight Edge Turning chain to make the turning chain.

Round 8:-
1 Double Crochet is already made while making the turning chain.
3 Double Crochets into the Chain 3 space.
1 Double Crochet into the next Single Crochet.
Repeat(3DC(into Ch3 Sp),1DC(on the SC))
Once you reach the end ,Chain 1 and turn your work.

Round 9 Onwards:-
Keep Repeating the rounds from Round 3 to Round 8 untill the size needed and weave off.


Here is the Summary of the Pattern:-

Round 1:-

Round 4:-
**This round we will be making the Sts only in the SC from previous round.
1DC is already made while making the turning Ch.
3DC in the same St(that's total 4 Double Crochets)
In the next SC St make - (1SC, Ch 3,3DCs)- all in the same St.
Repeat((1SC,Ch3,3DC)-all in the same St) in each of the SCs.
1SC in the last St.
Once you reach the end ,Ch 2 and use the Straight Edge Turning Ch to make the turning Ch.

Round 5:-
**This round we will be making the Sts only in the Ch 3 Sp from previous round.
(1DC is already made while making the turning Ch)
Ch 3.
1SC in the next Ch 3 Sp.
Ch 3
Repeat(1SC(into the Ch3 Sp),Ch3)
1SC in the last St.
Once you reach the end ,Ch 2 and use the Straight Edge Turning Ch to make the turning Ch.

Round 6:-
**This round we will be making the Sts only in the SC from previous round.
1DC is already made while making the turning Ch.
3DC in the same St(that's total 4 Double Crochets)
In the next SC St make - (1SC, Ch 3,3DCs)- all in the same St.
Repeat((1SC,Ch3,3DC)-all in the same St) in each of the SCs.
1SC in the last St.
Once you reach the end ,Ch 2 and use the Straight Edge Turning Ch to make the turning Ch.

Round 7:-
**This round we will be making the Sts only in the Ch 3 Sp from previous round.
(1DC is already made while making the turning Ch)
Ch 3.
1SC in the next Ch 3 Sp.
Ch 3
Repeat(1SC(into the Ch3 Sp),Ch3)
1SC in the last St.
Once you reach the end ,Ch 2 and use the Straight Edge Turning Ch to make the turning Ch.

Round 8:-
1DC is already made while making the turning Ch.
3DCs into the Ch 3 Sp.
1DC into the next SC.
Repeat(3DC(into Ch3 Sp),1DC(on the SC))
Once you reach the end ,Ch 1 and turn your work.

Round 9 Onwards:-
Keep Repeating the rounds from Round 3 to Round 8 untill the size needed and weave off.
