With just a repeat of few basic Crochet Stitches you make yourself a lovely and intricate Table Runner.

Let's Start:-

Round 1:-
Start with a Slip Knot.
Chain 40.
You can adjust the size by altering these stitches according to your requirement.
Start with any Even Number of Chain.

Round 2:-
1 Double Crochet in the 2nd Chain from the hook.
1 Double Crochet in each of the remaining stitches.
Once you reach end, Chain 2 and use the Straight Edge Turning Chain method to make the Turning Chain.

Straight Edge Turning Chain:-
Usually you would Chain 2, turn and start working the next round. Here is a quick tip to have a nice straight edge .
  • Insert the hook into the 1st chain from the bottom.
  • Yarn over and pull up a loop. You should have 2 loops on the hook.
  • Turn your project and insert the hook into the first stitch.
  • Yarn over and pull up a loop. You will have 3 loops on the hook.
  • Again, yarn over and pull through 2 loops. You will have 2 loops on the hook.
  • Lastly, yarn over and pull through 2 loops.
  • This will make one Double Crochet.

Round 3 :-
1 Double Crochet  is already made with the Turning Chain.
Chain 1.
Skip 1 Stitch.
1 Double Crochet in the next stitch.
Chain 1.
Skip 1.
Repeat(1DC,Ch1Sk1)
Once you reach end, Chain 2 and use the Straight Edge Turning Chain method mentioned in the previous round to make the Turning Chain.


Round 4:-
1 Double Crochet  is already made with the Turning Chain.
1 Double Crochet into the Chain 1 Space.
1 Double Crochet into the next Stitch.
Repeat(1DC(in Ch1 Space)1DC in next St).
Once you reach end, Chain 2 and use the Straight Edge Turning Chain method to make the Turning Chain.

Round 5:-
1 Double Crochet  is already made with the Turning Chain.
Skip 1 Stitch.
1 Double Crochet V-Stitch into the next Stitch.
Skip 1.
Repeat(1DC V-St, Sk 1)
1 Double Crochet into the last stitch.
Once you reach end, Chain 2 and use the Straight Edge Turning Chain method to make the Turning Chain.

How to Make a Double Crochet V-Stitch...?..... Here it is!!:-
(1 Double Crochet , Chain 1,1 Double Crochet into the same Stitch)
**make all the stitches in the same stitch.

Round 6:-
1 Double Crochet  is already made with the Turning Chain.
2 Double Crochets into each of the V-Stitches from the previous round.
1 Double Crochet into the last stitch.
Once you reach end, Chain 2 and use the Straight Edge Turning Chain method to make the Turning Chain.

Round 7:-
1 Double Crochet  is already made with the Turning Chain.
1 Double Crochet in each of the stitches.
Once you reach end, Chain 2 and use the Straight Edge Turning Chain method to make the Turning Chain.
39 Sts.

Round 8 :-
1 Double Crochet  is already made with the Turning Chain.
Chain 1.
Skip 1 Stitch.
1 Double Crochet in the next stitch.
Chain 1.
Skip 1.
Repeat(1DC,Ch1,Sk1)
**At the end you will have 1 stitch Left.
Make the last Chain 1 and finish off with 1 Double Crochet in the last Stitch.
Once you reach end, Chain 2 and use the Straight Edge Turning Chain to make the Turning Chain.

Round 9 Onwards :-
Keep Repeating Round 4 to Round 8 untill the size needed.

To end the table runner Finish Off with a Repeat of Round 4 and Weave off.

Here is the Summary of the Pattern:-

How to Make a Double Crochet V-St...?..... Here it is!!:-
(1DC,Ch1,1DC into the same St)
**make all the Sts in the same St.

Round 6:-
1DC is already made with the Turning Ch.
2 Double Crochets into each of the V-Sts from the previous round.
1DC  into the last St.
Once you reach end, Ch2 and use the Straight Edge Turning Ch method to make the Turning Ch.

Round 7:-
1DC is already made with the Turning Ch.
1DC  in each of the Sts.
Once you reach end, Ch2 and use the Straight Edge Turning Ch method to make the Turning Ch.

Round 8 :-
1DC is already made with the Turning Ch.
Ch1.
Sk1 St.
1DC  in the next St.
Ch1.
Sk1.
Repeat(1DC,Ch1,Sk1)
**At the end you will have 1 St Left.
Make the last Ch1 and finish off with 1DC  in the last St.
Once you reach end, Ch2 and use the Straight Edge Turning Ch to make the Turning Ch.

Round 9 Onwards :-
Keep Repeating Round 4 to Round 8 untill the size needed.

To end the table runner Finish Off with a Repeat of Round 4 and Weave off.
