Today am sharing the pattern for a Lazy Day Crochet Twisted Ear Warmer Headband . I made this as a Part of The 2025 Gift to Myself Crochet Along with Marie from Underground Crafter.
Its a quick and mindless working pattern. This easy crochet ear warmer headband pattern is lovely textured with the Front Post and Back Post Double Crochets. It is finished with a beautiful twist that much easier than it looks. It easily customizable and can be resized to any size.

Let's Start:-
Round 1:-
Start with a Slip Knot.
Chain 20 + 1 Chain extra for the Turning Chain
This base measures around 5 Inches.
You can adjust the size by altering these stitches according to your requirement.
Start with any Even Number of Chains + 1 Chain Extra for the turning chain.
Round 2:-
1 Double Crochet in the 2nd Chain from the hook.
1 Double Crochet in each of the remaining stitches.
Once you reach end, Chain 2 and use the Straight Edge Turning Chain method to make the Turning Chain.
Straight Edge Turning Chain:-
Usually you would Chain 2, turn and start working the next round. Here is a quick tip to have a nice straight edge .
- Insert the hook into the 1st chain from the bottom.
- Yarn over and pull up a loop. You should have 2 loops on the hook.
- Turn your project and insert the hook into the first stitch.
- Yarn over and pull up a loop. You will have 3 loops on the hook.
- Again, yarn over and pull through 2 loops. You will have 2 loops on the hook.
- Lastly, yarn over and pull through 2 loops.
- This will make one Double Crochet.
Round 3:-
1 Double Crochet is already made with the turning chain
1 Front Post Double Crochet each in the next stitch.
1 Back Post Double Crochet each in the next stitch.
Repeat((1FPDC),(1BPDC)).
1 Double Crochet in the last stitch.
Once you reach end, Chain 2 and use the Straight Edge Turning Chain method mentioned in the previous round to make the Turning Chain.
How to make a Front Post Double Crochet...??:-
- Yarn Over and insert your hook from front to back to front around the post of the stitch.
- Finish the stitch as the normal Double Crochet , i.e .Yarn Over and pull up a loop, Yarn Over and pull through 2 loops on your hook, Yarn Over and pull through remaining two loops on your hook.
How to make a Back Post Double Crochet...??:-
- Yarn Over and insert your hook from Back to Front to Back around the post of the stitch.
- Finish the stitch as the normal Double Crochet , i.e .Yarn Over and pull up a loop, Yarn Over and pull through 2 loops on your hook, Yarn Over and pull through remaining two loops on your hook.
Round 4:-
1 Double Crochet is already made with the turning chain
1 Back Post Double Crochet each in the next stitch.
1 Front Post Double Crochet each in the next stitch.
Repeat((1BPDC),(1FPDC)).
1 Double Crochet in the last stitch.
Once you reach end, Chain 2 and use the Straight Edge Turning Chain method to make the Turning Chain.
Round 5:-
1 Double Crochet is already made with the turning chain
1 Double Crochet in each of the remaining stitches.
Once you reach end, Chain 2 and use the Straight Edge Turning Chain method to make the Turning Chain.
Round 6:-
1 Double Crochet is already made with the turning chain
1 Double Crochet in each of the remaining stitches.
Once you reach end, Chain 2 and use the Straight Edge Turning Chain method to make the Turning Chain.
Round 7 Onwards:-
Keep repeating Round 3 to Round 6 untill its around 23 inches in size or untill the size needed.
Joining:-
Place the two ends of the Earwarmer together so they are halfway overlapping with each other.
Fold one half over the other open one.
Fold the open one over the already folded one so that it overlapping each other and forms a zig zag pattern.
Use a yarn needle sew all the four layers together. Be sure to insert the yarn needle through all 4 layers.
Sew back and forth a few times to secure the layers together.
Weave in the ends and turn the ear warmer inside out.
Use a Button Charm or any Embellishment of your choice and sew in the middle of the twisted knot.
Here is the Summary of the Pattern:-

How to make a Front Post Double Crochet...??:-

Once you reach end, Ch 2 and use the Straight Edge Turning Ch method to make the Turning Ch.
Round 5:-
1DC is already made with the turning Ch
1DC in each of the remaining Sts.
Once you reach end, Ch 2 and use the Straight Edge Turning Ch method to make the Turning Ch.
Round 6:-
1DC is already made with the turning Ch
1DC in each of the remaining Sts.
Once you reach end, Ch 2 and use the Straight Edge Turning Ch method to make the Turning Ch.
Round 7 Onwards:-
