Simple Willow Crochet Beanie Hat Part of the Winter Crochet Set Blog Hop 2025


Its always great to have something warm , comfy and snugly during the cool fall and winter time of the year. Many crocheters love making Crocheted Scarves, Cowls , Cardigans , Gloves , Hats and Beanies are these cooler months. These also make lovely gifts and are great for Donations. I love making Crochet Beanie Hats and Caps. They are super versatile. You can easily make them in any size you need.

Today am sharing the pattern for Simple Willow Crochet Beanie Hat. I made this as a Winter Crochet Set Blog Hop 2025 Hosted by Sandra from Sandra Stitches. Its a fun to make pattern with easy stitches. Crocheted hats are often great beginner crochet project. This easy beanie cap pattern is perfect for beginner crocheters too.



 

Materials Used:-
8 Ply Cotton Yarn(1 Skein)
4.50 mm Crochet Hook


Size:- 6 Inches Height , 7 Inches Brim - Can be customized to any size

Notes:-
  • For this whole Pattern, instead of the usual the Starting Chain 2 to start the next round  we will be using the Stacked Single Crochet .
  • The Stacked Single Crochet will be counted as a Double Crochet.
  • With the Stacked Single Crochet , you will have a neat seamless finish.

Lets Start ...!!!!

Round 1:-
Start with a Magic Circle.
Chain 2(Not Counted as a stitch)
12 Double Crochets in the circle.
Pull the yarn end to close the gap.
Slip Stitch on top of the first Double Crochet.
12 Stitches.


Round 2:-
Start with a Stacked Single Crochet - This will be counted as a Double Crochet.
1 Double Crochet into the same Stitch.
2 Double Crochets each in the remaining stitches.
Slip stitch on top of the first Double Crochet.
24 stitches.

How to Make the Stacked Single Crochet.....??? Here it is :-
  1. Start with a regular  Single Crochet in the 1st stitch.
  2. Insert your hook into the 2nd Vertical Leg of the Single Crochet(i.e the 2nd Vertical Leg from Right to Left ), Yarn Over and Pull up a loop - 2 loops on the hook.
  3. Yarn over and Pull through the 2 loops.
  4. That's 1 Stacked Single Crochet made.

Round 3:-
Start with a Stacked Single Crochet - This will be counted as a Double Crochet.
2 Double Crochets in the next stitch.
Repeat*(1DC, 2DC).
Slip Stitch on top of the first Double Crochet.
36 Stitches.

Round 4:-
Start with a Stacked Single Crochet - This will be counted as a Double Crochet.
1 Double Crochet in the next stitch.
2 Double Crochets in the next stitch.
Repeat*(1DC*2, 2DC)
Slip Stitch on top of the first Double Crochet.
48 Stitches.


Round 5:-
Start with a Stacked Single Crochet - This will be counted as a Double Crochet.
1 Double Crochet in the next 2 stitches.
2 Double Crochets in the next stitch.
Repeat*(1DC*3, 2DC)
Slip Stitch on top of the first Double Crochet.
60 Stitches.


If you wish to make it larger.... ,then follow the below mentioned increase pattern:-

Start each round with a Stacked Single Crochet(this will be counted as 1 Double Crochet)
Round 6--DC 4, 2DC in next stitch(72)
Round 7--DC 5, 2DC in next stitch(84)
Round 8--DC 6, 2DC in next stitch(96)
 .....and so on.

Round 6:-
In the first stitch make - (1 Single Crochet , 1 Half Double Crochet and 1 Double Crochet )- all in the same stitch
Skip 2 Stitches
In the next Stitch make -(1 Single Crochet, 1 Half Double Crochet , 1 Double Crochet)- all in the same stitch.
Skip 2 Stitches.
Repeat(1SC,1HDC,1DC)-all in same St, Sk 2)
Once you reach the end  do not make a Slip Stitch. We will be working in continuous rounds.

Round 7:-
**This Round Onwards, we will be working only into the Single Crochets from the previous Round.
In the 1st Stitch make- 1 Single Crochet , 1 Half Double Crochet and 1 Double Crochet in the same stitch
In the next Single Crochet make -(1 Single Crochet, 1 Half Double Crochet , 1 Double Crochet)- all in the same stitch.
Repeat((1SC,1HDC,1DC)-all in same St) into each of the Single Crochets.
Once you reach the end  do not make a Slip Stitch. We will be working in continuous rounds.

Round 8 Onwards:-
Keep repeating Round 7 untill its around 5 to 6 inches in size.
Make a Slip Stitch on top of the 1st stitch and weave off.



Here is the Summary of the Pattern:-

Round 1:-
Start with a Magic Circle.

Start with a Stacked SC - This will be counted as a Double Crochet.
1DC into the same St.

24 Sts.

How to Make the Stacked SC.....??? Here it is :-
Start with a regular  SC in the 1st St.

Start with a Stacked SC - This will be counted as a Double Crochet.
1DC in the next 2 Sts.
2DCs in the next St.
Repeat*(1DC*3, 2DC)
Slip St on top of the first Double Crochet.
60 Sts.

If you wish to make it larger.... ,then follow the below mentioned increase pattern:-

Start each round with a Stacked SC(this will be counted as 1DC)

Round 8 Onwards:-
Keep repeating Round 7 untill its around 5 to 6 inches in size.
Make a Slip St on top of the 1st St and weave off.
