Quick Round Potholder Placemat

Pot holder Placemats patterns are always so fun to make! You can easily make one in less than an hour. Once you get a hang on making one, you will surely want to make more of them.

Today am sharing the pattern for this super Quick Round Potholder Placemat. These work up really quickly. I have used two shades of the same color. These pot holders would look nice with both variegated and solid colors. These would be great for gift giving too.




Materials Used:-
  • Cotton Knitting Yarn(Light Grey & Dark Grey)
  • 4mm Crochet Hook

7 Inches





Here is the Video Tutorial:-



Round 1:-
Start with a Magic Circle.
Chain 1(Not counted as a stitch)
12 Single Crochets in the Magic  Circle.
Pull the Yarn end to close the loop
Slip stitch on top of the first  Single Crochet.
12 Stitches.

Round 2:-
Chain 4(First 3 Chain will be counted as 1 Double Crochet & the remaining stitch will be counted as Chain 1 space.)
1 Double Crochet in the next stitch.
Chain 1
Repeat*(1DC,Chain 1)
Slip stitch into the third chain.
Change color while making the slip stitch.


Round 3:-
Start with chain 2(Not counted as a stitch)
1 Front Post Double Crochet in the same stitch.
2 Double Crochets in the Chain 1 space.
Repeat*(1FPDC,2DC).
Slip stitch on top of the first FPDC.
Change color while making the slip stitch.
36 Stitches.



Round 4:-
Start with Chain 1(Not counted as a stitch)
1 Single Crochet in the same stitch.
1 Single Crochet each in the remaining stitches.
Slip stitch on top of the first single crochet.
Change color while making the slip stitch.
36 Stitches.

Round 5:-
Start with Chain 2(Not counted as a stitch)
1 Double Crochet in the same stitch.
1 Double Crochet in the next Stitch
2 Double Crochet in the next stitch.
Repeat*(1DC,1DC,2DC)
Slip stitch on top of the first Double Crochet.
Change color while making the slip stitch.
48 stitches.


Round 6:-
Chain 3.
Skip 1 stitch.
1 Single Crochet in the next stitch.
Repeat*(Chain 3, Skip 1, 1 Single Crochet).

Round 7:-(use the same color as previous round)
Slip stitch into the chain space.
Chain 1(Not Counted as a stitch)
3 Single Crochet in the same chain space.
Repeat 3 Single Crochets each in the chain spaces.
Slip stitch on top of the first Single Crochet.
Change color while making the slip stitch.
72 Stitches.


Round 8:-
Chain 2(Not counted as a stitch)
1 Double Crochet in the same stitch.
1 Double each in the remaining stitches.
Slip stitch on top of the first Double Crochet.
72 stitches.

Round 9:-
Continue with same color as previous round.
Chain 2(Not counted as a stitch)
1 Double crochet in the same stitch.
1 Double Crochet each in the next 2 stitches.
While Pulling up the last loop, change color.
1 Front Post Treble Cluster Crochet in the 3 Double Crochets from the previous round.
while pulling up the last loop change color.
Repeat*((1DC)*3), (1FPTC)(in the stitches from the previous round))
Slip stitch on top of the first Double Crochet.
Change color while making the slip stitch.






Round 10:-
Chain 1(Not counted as a stitch)
1 Single Crochet in the same stitch.
1 Single crochet each in the remaining stitches.
Slip stitch on top of the fist single crochet and weave off.




Here is the Summary of the Pattern:-

Round 1:-
Start with a Magic Circle.
Ch 1(Not counted as a St)
12 SCs in the Magic  Circle.
Pull the Yarn end to close the loop
SL on top of the 1st  SC.
12 Sts.

Round 2:-
Ch 4(1st 3 Ch will be counted as 1 DC & the remaining St will be counted as Ch 1 space.)
1 DC in the next St.
Ch 1
Repeat*(1DC,Ch 1)
SL into the third Ch.
Change color while making the SL.

Round 3:-
Start with Ch 2(Not counted as a St)
1 FPDC in the same St.
2 DCs in the Ch 1 space.
Repeat*(1FPDC,2DC).
SL on top of the 1st FPDC.
Change color while making the SL.
36 Sts.

Round 4:-
Start with Ch 1(Not counted as a St)
1 SC in the same St.
1 SC each in the remaining Sts.
SL on top of the 1st SC.
Change color while making the SL.
36 Sts.

Round 5:-
Start with Ch 2(Not counted as a St)
1 DC in the same St.
1 DC in the next St
2 DC in the next St.
Repeat*(1DC,1DC,2DC)
SL on top of the 1st DC.
Change color while making the SL.
48 Sts.

Round 6:-
Ch 3.
Skip 1 St.
1 SC in the next St.
Repeat*(Ch 3, Skip 1, 1 SC).

Round 7:-(use the same color as previous round)
SL into the Ch space.
Ch 1(Not Counted as a St)
3 SC in the same Ch space.
Repeat 3 SCs each in the Ch spaces.
SL on top of the 1st SC.
Change color while making the SL.
72 Sts.

Round 8:-
Ch 2(Not counted as a St)
1 DC in the same St.
1 Double each in the remaining Sts.
SL on top of the 1st DC.
72 Sts.

Round 9:-
Continue with same color as previous round.
Ch 2(Not counted as a St)
1 DC in the same St.
1 DC each in the next 2 Sts.
While Pulling up the last loop, change color.
1 Front Post Treble Cluster Crochet in the 3 DCs from the previous round.
