I love making baby blankets. I find them very relaxing and easy to work. Today am sharing the pattern for a Simple and Quick Crochet Baby Square Blanket. The repeat rows makes it a quick and easy project to whip up. Baby blankets are great for gift giving for the new bundle of joy.
Materials Used:-
Cake Yarn
4mm Crochet Hook
Notes:-
For this whole pattern, the starting chain 2 is not counted as a stitch. This is just to bring the yarn to a working height.
Start the Double Crochet in the same stitch.

Round 1:-
Start with a Magic Circle.
Chain 2.
12 Double Crochet in the circle.
Slip stitch on top of the first Double crochet.
Pull the yarn end to close the circle.
Chain 2.
5 Double Crochet in the same stitch.
Mark the Middle Stitch(i.e. the 3rd Stitch) with a stitch marker.
This will be the 1st corner of the square.
1 Double Crochet each in the next 2 stitches.
5 Double Crochet in the next stitch.(Mark the 2nd Corner)
Repeat *(5DC,1DC,1DC)* in rest of the stitches.
Slip Stitch on top of the first Double Crochet to end the round.
Chain 2.
1 Double Crochet in each stitch untill the 1st Corner(the marked stitch from the previous round.)
5 Double Crochet in the corner stitch.
1 Double Crochet each in the remaining stitches untill the next corner.
5 Double Crochet in the corner stitch.
Repeat all around.
Slip stitch on top of the first Double Crochet.
Chain 2.
1 Backpost Double Crochet in each stitch untill the corner.
(while making the 1st BPDC, yarn over the Chain 2 as well. This will give a neat finish.)
1 BPDC in each stitch untill the corner.
5 Double Crochets in the Corner stitch.
Repeat(1BPDC in each stitch, 5 DC in Corner stitches.)
Slip stitch on top of the first BPDC.
Chain 1.(Not counted as a stitch.)
1 Single Crochet each in the five stiches.
Chain 3.
1 Single Crochet in the same stitch.
Repeat (1SC*5,Chain 3, 1SC in the same stitch)
Here is the Summary of the Pattern:-
Round 1:-
Start with a Magic Circle.

Keep repeating Round 6, 7, 8 and 9 untill you reach the size you wish to make.
Border:-
Chain 1.(Not counted as a stitch.)
1 Single Crochet each in the five stiches.
Chain 3.
1 Single Crochet in the same stitch.
Repeat (1SC*5,Chain 3, 1SC in the same stitch)
