Seaside Coastal Flower Crochet Coaster

If you are looking for a quick summer themed crochet project, then here is it. One of my favorite projects to crochet has always been Crochet Coasters. Crochet coasters are among the easiest and the quickest patterns to make. With summer already here, I thought of making some beach color themed Coastal Flower Crochet Coasters.

Make these Coasters for any occasion by changing the color theme. They will also make lovely gifts for your loved ones.

Materials Used:-
8 Ply Cotton Yarn(Light and Dark Blue)
4mm Crochet Hook

Round 1:-
Start with a Magic Circle.
Chain 2(Not Counted as a stitch. Its just to bring the yarn to a working height)
12 Double Crochets in the Magic Circle.
Pull the yarn end to close the gap.
Slip Stitch on top of the first Double Crochet.
Change color while making the slip stitch.
12 Stitches.


Round 2:-
Chain 2(Not Counted as a stitch. Its just to bring the yarn to a working height)
2 Double Crochet each in between the stitches.
Slip stitch on top of the first Double Crochet.
Change color while making the slip stitch.
24 Stitches.

Round 3:-
Chain 4(Starting 3 chains will b counted as 1 Double Crochet and the remaining 1 chain will be counted as Chain 1 space.
1 Double Crochet in the next stitch.
Chain 1.
Repeat(1DC, Chain 1)
Slip stitch into the 3rd Chain.
Change color while making the slip stitch.


Round  4:-
Chain 2(Not Counted as a stitch. Its just to bring the yarn to a working height)
1 Double Crochet Cluster stitch each in the Chain 1 space all around.
Slip stitch on top of the 1st Cluster stitch.
Change color while making the slip stitch.

To Make a Double Crochet Cluster Stitch:-
  1. Yarn over, insert the hook into the stitch, yarn over and pull through 2 loops on the hook.(This is same as doing a Double Crochet Stitch. It is just that , you don't finish the Double Crochet Stitch and continue doing the first part of the Double Crochet Stitch again and again).You should have 2 loops on the hook.
  2. Yarn over, insert the hook in the same stitch, yarn over and pull through 2 loops. You should have 3 loops on the hook.
  3. Continue with the first part of Double Crochet stitch untill you have 5 loops on the hook.
  4. Yarn over and draw the yarn through all 5 loops on the hook.
  5. Chain 1.



Round  5:-
Chain 5.
1 Single Crochet in between the cluster stitch.
Repeat all around.


Round  6:-
Slip into the first Chain 5 space.
Change color while making the slip stitch.
Chain 2(Not Counted as a stitch. Its just to bring the yarn to a working height)
5 Double Crochets, Chain 2, 5 Double Crochets(all in the same stitch.
Slip stitch into the next Chain space.
Repeat*((5DC,Chain 2, 5DC), Slip stitch into the next stitch).
Slip stitch on top of the 1st Double Crochet and weave off.




Here is the Summary of the Pattern:-

Round 1:-
Start with a Magic Circle.
Ch2(Not Counted as a St. Its just to bring the yarn to a working height)
12 DCs in the Magic Circle.

SL on top of the first DC.
Change color while making the SL.
12 Sts.

Round 2:-
Ch2(Not Counted as a St. Its just to bring the yarn to a working height)
2 DC each in between the Sts.
SL on top of the first DC.
Change color while making the SL.
24 Sts.

Round 3:-
Chain 4(Starting 3 chains will b counted as 1 DC and the remaining 1 chain will be counted as Ch1 space.
1 DC in the next St.
Ch1.
Repeat(1DC,Ch1)
SL into the 3rd Chain.
Change color while making the SL.

Round  4:-
Ch2(Not Counted as a St. Its just to bring the yarn to a working height)
1 DC Cluster St each in the Ch1 space all around.
SL on top of the 1st Cluster St.
Change color while making the SL.

To Make a DC Cluster St:-
YO, insert the hook into the St, YO and pull through 2 loops on the hook.(This is same as doing a DC St. It is just that , you don't finish the DC St and continue doing the first part of the DC St again and again).You should have 2 loops on the hook.
YO, insert the hook in the same St, YO and pull through 2 loops. You should have 3 loops on the hook.
Continue with the first part of DC St untill you have 5 loops on the hook.
YO and draw the yarn through all 5 loops on the hook.
Ch1.

Round  5:-
Ch5.
1 SC in between the cluster St.
Repeat all around.

Round  6:-
Slip into the first Ch5 space.
Change color while making the SL.
Ch2(Not Counted as a St. Its just to bring the yarn to a working height)
5DCs, Ch2,5DCs(all in the same St.
SL into the next Chain space.
Repeat*((5DC,Ch2,5DC), SL into the next St).
SL on top of the 1st DC and weave off.
