There is nothing better than a cozy crochet blanket. Crochet blankets are always a popular choice among crocheters , be a beginner or a experienced Crocheter. The crocheted blankets are so versatile. You can combine multiple crochet stitches and make a pretty textured crochet blanket. You can easily make them as small as you want, or as large as you want.
Today am sharing the pattern for this Fast and Easy Crochet Blanket with Alpine Stitch. The Crochet Alpine stitch gives the lovely textured look to the blanket. I just love the texture of this stitch.
This stitch looks amazing in all yarns and weights so its great for crochet in any of your favorite yarns. Just be sure to adjust your hook size as necessary. It looks so elegant and it works fairly quick. The alpine stitch is relatively simple to make. This stitch is made up of double crochets, single crochets and front post double crochets.
Materials Used:-
Cotton Cake Yarn
4 mm Crochet Hook
Round 1:-
Start with a Slip Knot.
Chain 100 + 1 Chain extra for the turning chain.
This measures around 30 inches.
You can adjust the size of the blanket by altering these stitches according to your requirement.
1 Single Crochet in the Second Chain from the hook.
1 Single Crochet each in the remaining stitches.
Chain 2 and turn your project.
1 Double Crochet.
1 Front post Double Crochet in the next stitch, but instead of inserting the hook in the next stitch, Insert your hook into the stitch which is one row below the current row stitch. i.e the previous round.
Repeat(1DC,1FPDC(in the previous round))
Once you reach the end, Chain 1 and turn.
1 Single Crochet in each of the stitches.
Chain 2 and turn your project.
1 Front post Double Crochet on the Double Crochet from the Previous round.
1 Double Crochet in the next stitch - (Be careful not to make a stitch behind the FPDC. Because of the FPDC in the DC below, there will be an unused stitch left behind the FPDC. When you are making the next dc, you should skip that stitch )
Repeat(1FPDC(in the previous round),1DC)
Once you reach the end , Chain 1 and turn.
Keep repeating Round 6 and Round 7 untill the size needed.
But remember the thumb rule :-
Keep alternating the starting stitches i.e.
- if the stitch below the row of the single crochets is a Double Crochet, then make a Front Post Double Crochet , if it’s a Front Post Double Crochet, then make Double Crochet.

Very pretty blanket & love the texture. How many balls of the cake yarn does it take for this blanket?
