Who doesn’t love a crochet hat? Some of the easiest and most fun Crochet Patterns to whip up are crochet winter hats. They are often quick to make and they make lovely presents for friends and family. What I love the most about making your own crochet hat is the designs and patterns are endless. With using a combination few crochet stitches you can create lovely textured hats of any size you need.
Today am sharing the pattern for this Cozy and Comfy Quick Textured Crochet Winter Hat. The pattern is very simple made by alternating only few rows of Single Crochets and a row of Front Post Double Crochet . The combination of these two stitches gives the hat a lovely textured look.
This crochet winter hat pattern is worked up in a pretty straight forward way. This is made by crocheting a rectangle and the sides and the top are sewed up to make a easy hat.
Crocheted hats are often great beginner crochet project. Using blanket yarn of chenille yarn, bulky and super bulky yarn weights makes the hat more comfy and cozy. These Bulky yarn crochet projects are great because they work up fast.
Round 1:-
Start with a Slip Knot.
Chain 35.
You can adjust the size of the hat by altering these stitches according to your requirement.
1 Single Crochet in the 2nd chain from the hook.
1 Single Crochet in the 2nd chain from the hook.
1 Single Crochet each in the remaining stitches.
Chain 1 and turn.
1 Single Crochet in the 2nd chain from the hook.
1 Single Crochet each in the remaining stitches.
Chain 2 and turn.
1 Front post Double Crochet , but instead of inserting the hook in the next stitch, Insert your hook into the stitch which is one row below the current row stitch. i.e the previous round.
Repeat (1 FPDC) in each stitch from the previous round.
Chain 1 and turn.
Keep repeating Round 2, Round 3, Round 4 and Round 5 untill the size needed.(i.e 3 rounds of 1 Single Crochet in each stitch and 1 round of Front Post Double Crochet in each stitch from the previous round)
Fold your work in half and join both the ends with 1 Single Crochet in each stitch. Be sure to align the stitches in line with each other and weave off.
Using a yarn needle, make running stitches on top of the hat.
Pull the yarn end to close the opening.
If required, make few more stitches on the top to make it secure.
To give a neat finish to the brim of the hat, make One Slip Stitch in each stitch around and weave off.
Use a Pom Pom maker to make a fluffy pom pom and sew it on top of the hat. Secure it properly with extra stitches.
Round 1:-
Start with a Slip Knot.

Round 5:-

Repeat (1 FPDC) in each stitch from the previous round.
Ch 1 and turn.
Round 6 Onwards:-
Keep repeating Round 2, Round 3, Round 4 and Round 5 untill the size needed.(i.e 3 rounds of 1 SC in each stitch and 1 round of FPDC in each stitch from the previous round)
Joining:-
Fold your work in half and join both the ends with 1 SC in each stitch. Be sure to align the stitches in line with each other and weave off.
Top of the Hat:-
Using a yarn needle, make running stitches on top of the hat.
Pull the yarn end to close the opening.
If required, make few more stitches on the top to make it secure.
Brim:-
To give a neat finish to the brim of the hat, make One Slip Stitch in each stitch around and weave off.
Pom Pom:-
Use a Pom Pom maker to make a fluffy pom pom and sew it on top of the hat. Secure it properly with extra stitches.
