Crochet Sleek Doily How To Crochet Round Doily


Crochet doilies are always wonderful for adding a touch of elegance to your home decor. There is nothing better than home made crochet doilies to decorate and brighten up your home decor. Doilies can be made with the vintage white look or you can very well customize your doily with a bright color to perfectly compliment your home decor.

If you are looking for a fun and quick home decor project, this here it it.Today am sharing the pattern for this easy and quick Crochet Sleek Round Doily. The pattern is very simple and the size of this doily can be customized according to your choice. By using the Two- Row repeat pattern, you can make it as much bigger as you wish.




Materials Used:-
4 Ply Cotton Knitting Yarn 
4 mm Crochet Hook

Size:-
10 inches - Customizable to any size

Notes:-
For this whole Pattern, the Starting Chain 2 is not counted as a stitch. It is Just to bring the yarn to a working height. Start the next stitch in the same stitch.

Let's Start...!!!

Round 1:-
Start with a Magic Circle.
16 Double Crochets in the circle.
Pull the yarn end to close the gap.
Slip Stitch on top of the first Double Crochet.



Round 2:-
Chain 4 (the starting chain 2 will be considered as 1 Double Crochet and the remaining stitches will be counted as Chain 2.)
1 Double Crochet in the next stitch.
Chain 2
Repeat(1DC, Chain 2)
Slip Stitch into the Second Chain.
16 Chain spaces.



Round 3:-
Start with Chain 2(Not Counted as  a stitch). 1 Front Post Double Crochet in the same stitch.
2 Double Crochet in the next chain space.
Repeat*(1FPDC,2DC)
Slip stitch on top of the first front post double crochet.
48 Stitches.


Round 4:-
Chain 4 (the starting chain 2 will be considered as 1 Double Crochet and the remaining stitches will be counted as Chain 2.)
Skip 1 Stitch.
1 Double Crochet in the next stitch.
Chain 2
Repeat(1DC, Chain 2, Skip 1)
Slip Stitch into the Second Chain.
24 Chain Spaces.



Round 5:-
Start with Chain 2(Not Counted as  a stitch). 1 Front Post Double Crochet in the same stitch.
2 Double Crochet in the next chain space.
Repeat*(1FPDC,2DC)
Slip stitch on top of the first front post double crochet.
72 Stitches.



Round 6 Onwards:-
Keep repeating Round 4 and Round 5 untill the size needed.






Border:-
Chain 2.
3 Double Crochets in the same stitch.
Skip 3 stitches.
1 Single Crochet in the next stitch.
Repeat((Chain 2, (1DC)*3)- all in same stitch, Skip 3, 1 SC in the next stitch)
Slip stitch into the first stitch and weave off.


Here is the Summary of the Pattern:-

Round 1:-
Start with a Magic Circle.

Skip 1 St.
1 DC in the next St.
Ch 2
Repeat(1DC, Ch 2, Skip 1)
Slip St into the Second Ch.
24 Ch Spaces.

Round 5:-
Start with Ch 2(Not Counted as  a St). 1 FP DC in the same St.
2 DC in the next Ch space.
Repeat*(1FPDC,2DC)
Slip St on top of the first FP DC.
72 Sts.

Round 6 Onwards:-
Keep repeating Round 4 and Round 5 untill the size needed.

Border:-
Ch 2.
3 DCs in the same St.
Skip 3 Sts.
1 SC in the next St.
Repeat((Ch 2, (1DC)*3)- all in same St, Skip 3, 1 SC in the next St)
Slip St into the first St and weave off.

  1. Thanks for the step-by-step photos on the Sleek Doily pattern. I'm self-taught from books eons ago, long before computer tutorials. It has always been hard for me to figure out the picot trim for afghans, doilies, etc. Not all the books I had showed that trim as well as you did. Thanks again.
