There are many crochet stitch variations you can combine and use to create a beautifully textured blanket. They are best option to be gifted to your loved one.
If you are looking for an easy crochet blanket pattern to make with some interesting texture, then here it is. Today am sharing the pattern for this Easy Crochet Puff Pattern Blanket. Puff stitch is one of the most versatile stitch that can be combined with many different crochet stitches. The pattern is simple and made with basic crochet stitches combined with Puff stitch which adds a lovely texture .
Materials Used:-
8 Ply Cotton Yarn
4 mm Crochet Hook
Size:-
35 inches- Customizable to any size

Round 1:-
Start with a Slip Knot.
Chain 100 +1 Chain for the turning chain.
This measures around 35 inches.
You can adjust the size of the blanket by altering these stitches according to your requirement.
Round 2:-
1 Double Crochet in the Second Chain from the hook.
1 Double Crochet each in the remaining stitches.
1 Double Crochet each in the remaining stitches.
Once you reach end, Chain 2.
Straight Edge Turning Chain(for Half Double Crochet):-
Usually you would Chain 2, turn and start working the next round. Here is a quick tip to have a nice straight edge .
- Insert the hook into the 1st chain from the bottom.
- Yarn over and pull up a loop. You should have 2 loops on the hook.
- Turn your project and insert the hook into the first stitch.
- Yarn over and pull up a loop. You will have 3 loops on the hook.
- Yarn over and pull through all the loops
- This will make one Half Double Crochet.
Round 3:-
(1 Half Double Crochet already made while making the turning chain)
1 Half Double Crochet each in the remaining stitches.
1 Half Double Crochet each in the remaining stitches.
Once you reach end, Chain 2.
Straight Edge Turning Chain(for Double Crochet):-
Usually you would Chain 2, turn and start working the next round. Here is a quick tip to have a nice straight edge .
- Insert the hook into the 1st chain from the bottom.
- Yarn over and pull up a loop. You should have 2 loops on the hook.
- Turn your project and insert the hook into the first stitch.
- Yarn over and pull up a loop. You will have 3 loops on the hook.
- Again, yarn over and pull through 2 loops. You will have 2 loops on the hook.
- Lastly, yarn over and pull through 2 loops.
- This will make one Double Crochet.
Round 4:-
(1 Double Crochet already made while making the turning chain)
Skip 2 Stitches.
1 Double Crochet in the next stitch( i.e. the third stitch)
1 Puff Stitch in the first skipped stitch(i.e. go back into the 1st skipped stitch and make the Puff stitch).
Repeat(Skip 2 , 1DC , 1 Puff (into the 1st skipped stitch)).
1 Double Crochet in the last stitch.
Chain 1 and turn your work.
To make a Puff Stitch:-
- First pull up the yarn on the hook to a height of a double crochet.
- Yarn Over, insert hook in the same stitch and pull up a loop. Do not complete the stitch(3 loops on the hook)
- Again, Yarn Over, insert hook in the same stitch and pull up a loop.(5 Loops on the hook).
- Lastly, Yarn Over, insert hook in the same stitch and pull up a loop.(7 loops on the hook).
- To finish the Puff stitch, Yarn Over and Pull through all 7 loops.
- Chain 1.
Round 5:-
1 Single Crochet in each of the stitches.
Once you reach the end, Chain 2 and use the Straight Edge Turning Chain to make the turning chain.
Round 6 Onwards:-
Keep Repeating Round 2, Round 3, Round 4 and Round 5 untill the size needed and weave off.
Here is the Summary of the Pattern:-
Round 1:-

Insert the hook into the 1st Ch from the bottom.
Yarn over and pull up a loop. You should have 2 loops on the hook.
Turn your project and insert the hook into the first St.
Yarn over and pull up a loop. You will have 3 loops on the hook.
Again, yarn over and pull through 2 loops. You will have 2 loops on the hook.
Lastly, yarn over and pull through 2 loops.
This will make one DC.
Round 4:-
(1 DC already made while making the turning Ch)
Skip 2 Sts.
1 DC in the next St( i.e. the third St)
1 Puff St in the first skipped St(i.e. go back into the 1st skipped St and make the Puff St).
Repeat(Skip 2 , 1DC , 1 Puff (into the 1st skipped St)).
1 DC in the last St.
Ch 1 and turn your work.
Round 5:-
1 SC in each of the Sts.
Once you reach the end, Ch 2 and use the Straight Edge Turning Ch to make the turning Ch.
Round 6 Onwards:-
