I love making Animal Themed Crochet Projects. They turn out so cute. There are variety of Animal Themes you can whip up. Farm Animals, Sea Animals , Pets, Reptiles and many more. These crochet animals are fun to play with regardless of what age you are.
Today am sharing the pattern for Crochet Sea Creatures - One For All Basic Amigurumi Pattern. I made this as a part of the Part of The 2025 Toy Box Crochet Along with Marie from Underground Crafter.
This is the basic One for All Amigurumi body pattern which is one and the same for various different Sea Animals. The Facial Features are the same for the different sea creatures. You just have to change body parts and you can turn them into any animal of your choice.
Materials Used:-
8 Ply Cotton Knitting Yarn - Less than a Skein
4 mm Crochet Hook
Size:-
3.5 inches- Customizable to any size

Abbreviations Used:-
Ch - Chain
DC - Double Crochet
Trbl - Treble Crochet
SC - Single Crochet
BLSC - Back Loop Single Crochet
SL - Slip Stitch
St/Sts - Stitch/Stitches
Notes:-
Do not make a Slip Stitch to end a round. For the whole pattern we will be working in continuous rounds.

Lets Start ...!!!!
Round 1:-
Start with a Magic Circle.
6 Single Crochets in the circle.
Pull the yarn end to close the gap.
**Do not make a Slip Stitch. We will be working in continuous rounds.
6 Stitches.
Round 2:-
2 Single Crochets in each stitch around.
12 Stitches.
Round 3:-
1 Single Crochet.
2 Single Crochets in the next stitch.
Repeat(1SC,2SC).
18 Stitches.
Round 4 :-
1 Single Crochet each in the next 2 stitches.
2 Single Crochets in the next stitch.
Repeat(1SC*2,2SC).
24 Stitches.
Round 5 :-
1 Single Crochet each in the next 3 stitches.
2 Single Crochets in the next stitch.
Repeat(1SC*3,2SC).
30 Stitches.
Round 6 :-
1 Single Crochet each in the next 4 stitches.
2 Single Crochets in the next stitch.
Repeat(1SC*4,2SC).
36 Stitches.
Round 7:-
1 Single Crochet each in the next 5 stitches.
2 Single Crochets in the next stitch.
Repeat(1SC*5,2SC).
42 Stitches.
This base measures around 3 inches. If you wish to make it larger ,then follow the below mentioned increase pattern:-
Round 8--SC*6, 2SC in next St(48)
Round 9--SC*7, 2SC in next St(54)
Round 10--SC*8, 2SC in next St(60)
Round 11--SC*9, 2SC in next St(66)
.....and so on.
Round 8 to 12:-
1 Single Crochet in each stitch around.
42 Stitches.
Round 13:-
1 Back Loop Single Crochet in each stitch around.
This will form the Turning Base.
42 Stitches.
Round 14:-
1 Single Crochet each in the next 4 stitches.
1 Single Crochet Decrease in the next stitch
Repeat(1SC*4,1SC Decrease)
35 Stitches.
To make a Single Crochet Decrease:-
Insert hook and draw up a loop - 2 Loops on the hook
Insert your hook into the next stitch and Draw up a loop - 3 loops on the hook.
Yarn over and draw through all three loops on the hook.
This completes 1 Single Crochet Decrease.
Round 15:-
1 Single Crochet each in the next 3 stitches.
1 Single Crochet Decrease in the next stitch
Repeat(1SC*3,1SC Decrease)
28 Stitches.
Round 16:-
1 Single Crochet each in the next 2 stitches.
1 Single Crochet Decrease in the next stitch
Repeat(1SC*2,1SC Decrease)
21 Stitches.
Round 17:-
1 Single Crochet.
1 Single Crochet Decrease in the next stitch
Repeat(1SC,1SC Decrease)
Fill it up with fiber fill.
14 Stitches.
Round 18 Onwards:-
1 Single Crochet Decrease in each stitch untill the gap is closed and Weave off your yarn.
Use the same pattern for make the base for the other Sea Creatures.
Fish:-
Fin:-
Join the yarn to one side of the 13th Round(i.e. the Backloop Stitches)
Chain 6.
1 Single Crochet into the 2nd Chain from the hook.
1 Half Double Crochet
1 Double Crochet each into the next 2 stitches.
1 Treble Crochet in the last stitch.
Skip 2 stitches and join the yarn to the body of the Fish by making a Slip Stitch into the next stitch and Weave off.
** Use the same pattern to make the 2nd Fin on the opposite Side.
Tail:-
Join the yarn at the back of the Fish Body.
(1 Single Crochet, i Half Double Crochet, 3 Double Crochets, 1 Half Double Crochet,1 Single Crochet,1 Slip Stitch)- make all these stitches into the same stitch.
Slip Stitch into the next stitch
Into the next Stitch make - (1 Single Crochet, i Half Double Crochet, 3 Double Crochets, 1 Half Double Crochet,1 Single Crochet,1 Slip Stitch) and weave off.
Jelly Fish:-
Join the yarn to the under side of the body.
**Chain 22.
1 Single Crochet into the 2nd chain from the hook.
1 Single Crochet into each of the remaining stitches.
Slip Stitch into the next stitch.**
Repeat from ** to ** untill you have made around 5 to 6 tentacles.
Octopus:-
Join the yarn to one side of the 13th Round(i.e. the Backloop Stitches)
**Chain 2 , 2 Double Crochets, Chain 2, Slip Stitch into the next Stitch)**
Repeat from ** to ** in the rest of the stitches and weave off.
Crab:-
**(Join the yarn to one side of the 13th Round(i.e. the Backloop Stitches)
**Chain 7,
1 Double Crochet into the 2nd Chain from the hook.
1 Double Crochet into each of the remaining stiches.
Slip Stitch into the same stitch.
1 Single Crochet each into next 3 stitches.**
Repeat from ** to ** untill you have 3 legs.
For the last leg , do make the Single Crochets.
Slip Stitch into the same stitch and weave off.)**

1 SC each in the next 3 Sts.
1 SC Dec in the next St

Round 16:-
1 SC each in the next 2 Sts.
1 SC Dec in the next St
Repeat(1SC*2,1SC Dec)

Round 17:-
1 SC.
1 SC Dec in the next St

Fill it up with fiber fill.
14 Sts.
Round 18 Onwards:-

Use the same pattern for make the base for the other Sea Creatures.
Facial Features:-
Using a yarn needle , sew in the facial features and trim off the extra yarn.
Fish:-
Fin:-
Join the yarn to one side of the 13th Round(i.e. the Backloop Sts)
Ch 6.
1 SC into the 2nd Ch from the hook.
1 Half DC
1 DC each into the next 2 Sts.
1 Trbl Crochet in the last St.
Skip 2 Sts and join the yarn to the body of the Fish by making a SL into the next St and Weave off.
** Use the same pattern to make the 2nd Fin on the opposite Side.
Tail:-
Join the yarn at the back of the Fish Body.
(1 SC, i Half DC, 3 DCs, 1 Half DC,1 SC,1 SL)- make all these Sts into the same St.
SL into the next St
Into the next St make - (1 SC, i Half DC, 3 DCs, 1 Half DC,1 SC,1 SL) and weave off.
