Easy Hygge Crochet Tote Bag with Tshirt Yarn Part Of The Fantastical BagtastiCAL 2026 with CAL Central


Crocheting with TShirt yarn is so satisfying and fun to work with. Crochet Projects made with TShirt Yarn works up pretty fast and quick. Crochet TShirt Yarn patterns are versatile. They great for making sturdy projects like Crochet Bags and Rugs.

Today am sharing the pattern for Easy Hygge Crochet Tote Bag with Tshirt Yarn . I  made this as a part Of The Fantastical BagtastiCAL 2026 with CAL Central with Marie from Underground Crafter.

Crochet Bags are not only pretty but also very functional and practical. This is a durable and practical crochet handbag pattern designed for everyday use. Using TShirt Yarn makes this a very quick project to whip up.




Materials Used:-
T-Shirt Yarn  1 Skein of Each Color

Size:-
12 Inches

Abbreviations Used:-
Ch - Chain
SL - Slip Stitch
St/Sts - Stitch/Stitches
SC - Single Crochet
BLSC - Backloop Single Crochet

Notes:-  
For this whole Pattern the Starting Chain 1 will not be counted as a stitch. It is just to bring the yarn to a working height.
Start the next stitch in the same stitch.

Let's Start...!!!

Round 1:-
Start with a Slip Knot.
Chain 20.
Round 2:-
3 Single Crochets into the 2nd Chain from the hook.
1 Single Crochet each in the remaining stitches untill the last stitch.
3 Single Crochet into the last stitch
Continue working on the opposite side. Take the yarn end along with the working yarn. This will give a neat finish.
1 Single Crochet each in stitch untill the last stitch.
Slip Stitch on top of the 1st Single Crochet.
Round 3:-
Chain 1.
2 Single Crochets each in the turning 3 Single Crochets.
1 Single Crochet in each stitch untill the turning 3 Single Crochets.
2 Single Crochets each in the turning Single Crochets.
1 Single Crochet each in the remaining stitches.
Once you reach the end, make a Slip Stitch on top of the 1st Single Crochet.
Round 4:-
**This Round Onwards, We Will Be Working Only into The Backloops.
Chain 1.
1 Back Loop SC in each stitch around.
Once you reach the end, do  not slip stitch. We will be working in continuous rounds.
Round 5 Onwards:-
1 Back Loop Single Crochet in each stitch around untill its around 11 to 12 inches in size or untill the size needed.

If you wish you can work with a Single Tone Yarn or Change the Yarn Color alternatively to make it in Dual Tome. 
Handles:-
Marking:-
**Count 5 stitches from the Right End and Mark the Stitch with a Stitch Marker. This will be the starting point of the handle. 
Count 5 stitches from the Left End and Mark the Stitch with a Stitch Marker. This will be the ending point of the handle. 
Repeat the same for the 2nd handle on the Opposite Side to make the 2nd Handle.**
1 Back Loop Single Crochet in each stitch untill the marked stitch.
Chain 50.
1 Back Loop Single Crochet into the stitch next to the marked stitch(1st Handle made)
Continue with 1 Back Loop Single Crochet in each stitch untill the next marked stitch.
Chain 50 .
1 Back Loop Single Crochet into the stitch next to the marked stitch(2nd Handle made)
1 Back Loop Single Crochet each in the reaming stitches.

Finishing:-
1 Back Loop Single Crochet in each stitch around and 1 Single Crochet into each stitch on the handles and Weave off.
If you wish to make a thicker handle , then you can make one more round of 1 
Single Crochet in each stitch around and Weave off.

Here is the Summary of the Pattern:-

Round 1:-
Start with a Slip Knot.
Chain 20.

Round 2:-

Once you reach the end, make a SL on top of the 1st SC.

Round 4:-
**This Round Onwards, We Will Be Working Only into The Backloops.
Chain 1.
1 BLSC in each St around.
Once you reach the end, do  not SL. We will be working in continuous rounds.

Round 5 Onwards:-
1 BLSC in each St around untill its around 11 to 12 inches in size or untill the size needed.

Finishing:-
1 BLSC in each St around and 1 SC into each St on the handles and Weave off.
If you wish to make a thicker handle , then you can make one more round of 1 
SC in each St around and Weave off.
