Easy Crochet Textured Ripple Tweed Scarf

A simple scarf is one of those crochet projects that is perfect for both beginners and experienced crocheters. If you are  looking for a quick, easy, and cozy crochet project, this scarf might be just what you need!

Scarves are one of my favorite things to crochet because they don't require complicated shaping, and you can easily adjust the size to suit your preference. Once you get started, you can simply keep crocheting row after row until your scarf reaches the length you want.

This Easy Crochet Textured Ripple Tweed Scarf is a wonderful project if you’re looking for a simple scarf with a little extra texture. The scarf is made using the chevron crochet stitch, which creates beautiful ripples and gives the finished piece a lovely, textured appearance.

Although the stitch looks quite detailed, it is actually very easy to work once you get into the rhythm of the pattern. The repeating increases and decreases create the pretty chevron effect without requiring complicated crochet techniques.

This scarf is crocheted breadthwise, rather than lengthwise, which gives the design a lovely flow and allows the chevron pattern to create those beautiful ripples across the scarf.

Let's Start:-

Round 1:-

Start with a Slip Knot.

Chain 204 + 3 Chains for the turning chain.

You can adjust the size by altering these stitches according to your requirement.

Start with any multiple of 12 + 3 Chains for the turning chain.

Round 2:-

1 Double Crochet into the 4th Chain from the hook.

1 Double Crochet each into the next 3 Stitches.

1 Double Crochet Decrease(also called the Double Crochet 2 Together Stitch) each into the next 2 Stitches.

1 Double Crochet each into the next 3 Stitches.

1 Double Crochet Increase(i.e 2 Double Crochets into the same Stitch) each into the next 2 Stitches.

Repeat(1DC*3 ,DC Dec*2 ,1DC*3 ,2DC*2).

2 Double Crochets in the last stitch.

Once you reach end, Chain 2 and use the Straight Edge Turning Chain to make the turning chain.

**Make the Turning Chain Stitch into the Back Loop of the 1st Stitch.

Straight Edge Turning Chain:-

Usually you would Chain 2, turn and start working the next round. Here is a quick tip to have a nice straight edge .

• Insert the hook into the 1st chain from the bottom.
• Yarn over and pull up a loop. You should have 2 loops on the hook.
• Turn your project and insert the hook into the first stitch.
• Yarn over and pull up a loop. You will have 3 loops on the hook.
• Again, yarn over and pull through 2 loops. You will have 2 loops on the hook.
• Lastly, yarn over and pull through 2 loops.
• This will make one Double Crochet.

How to Make a Double Crochet Decrease.....????. Here it is....!!!:-

• Start the Decrease , same as a Double Crochet. But Do not finish the Double Crochet. i.e. Yarn over and Pull up a loop , Pull through first 2 loops -2 loops on the hook.
• Yarn over, place hook in next stitch, yarn over, pull up a loop, yarn over, pull through 2 loops - 3 loops on hook
• Yarn over, pull yarn through all 3 loops.
• That's One Double Crochet Decrease made also known as the Double Crochet 2 Together Stitch.

Round 3:-

**This Round Onwards, we will be working only in the Back Loops.

1 Double Crochet is already made with the turning chain.

1 Back Loop Double Crochet in the same stitch.(that will make 2 Double Crochets in the first Stitch)

1 Back Loop Double Crochet each in the next 3 Stitches.

1 Back Loop Double Crochet Decrease each in the next 2 Stitches.

1 Back Loop Double Crochet each in the next 3 Stitches.

1 Back Loop Double Crochet Increase each in the next Two Stitches.

Repeat(1BLDC*3,BLDC Dec*2,1BLDC*3,2BLDC*2).

2 Back Loop Double Crochets in the last stitch.

Once you reach end, Chain 2 and use the Straight edge Turning Chain mentioned in the previous round to make the Turning Chain.

Round 4 Onwards:-

Keep Repeating Round 3 untill the size needed.

Here is the Summary of the Pattern:-

Round 1:-

Start with a Slip Knot.

**Make the Turning Ch St into the Back Loop of the 1st St.

Straight Edge Turning Ch:-

• Usually you would Ch 2, turn and start working the next round. Here is a quick tip to have a nice straight edge .
• Insert the hook into the 1st Ch from the bottom.
• YO and pull up a loop. You should have 2 loops on the hook.
• Turn your project and insert the hook into the first St.
• YO and pull up a loop. You will have 3 loops on the hook.
• Again, YO and pull through 2 loops. You will have 2 loops on the hook.
• Lastly, YO and pull through 2 loops.
• This will make one DC.

How to Make a DC Dec.....????. Here it is....!!!:-

• Start the Dec , same as a DC. But Do not finish the DC. i.e. YO and Pull up a loop , Pull through first 2 loops -2 loops on the hook.
• YO, place hook in next St, YO, pull up a loop, YO, pull through 2 loops - 3 loops on hook
• YO, pull yarn through all 3 loops.
• That's One DC Dec made also known as the DC 2 Together St.

Round 3:-

**This Round Onwards, we will be working only in the Back Loops.

1 DC is already made with the turning Ch.

1 BLDC in the same St.(that will make 2 DCs in the first St)

1 BLDC each in the next 3 Sts.

1 BLDC Dec each in the next 2 Sts.

1 BLDC each in the next 3 Sts.

1 BLDC Inc each in the next Two Sts.

Repeat(1BLDC*3,BLDC Dec*2,1BLDC*3,2BLDC*2).

2 BLDCs in the last St.

Once you reach end, Ch 2 and use the Straight edge Turning Ch mentioned in the previous round to make the Turning Ch.

Round 4 Onwards:-

Keep Repeating Round 3 untill the size needed.
