Sweet Purple Heart Doily

Crochet heart patterns are always a popular choice for Valentine's Day. Making a handcrafted gift for your family , friends and loved ones is a great way to celebrate Valentine’s Day.

Today am sharing the pattern for this Sweet Purple Heart Doily. They would be a great idea for gift giving to your loved ones or you can  put it on your table or decorate any corner of your home. I started the doily with a tiny heart in the center and lined up the border with hearts.

Materials Used:-

Cotton Knitting Yarn

4mm Crochet Hook

Size:-

14 inches

Lets Start ...!!!!

Round 1:-

Start with a Magic Circle.

Chain 3 (Ch3)

3 Treble Crochet(3TR)

3 Double Crochet(3 DC)
Chain 1(Ch1)
1 Treble Crochet(1 TR)
Chain 1(Ch1)
3 Double Crochet(3DC)
3 Treble Crochet (3 TR)
Chain 3 (Ch3)

Slip stitch into the magic ring.

Pull the yarn end tight to close the gap in the middle. 

Round 2:-

Chain 1(Not Counted as a stitch. This is just to bring the yarn to a working height)

3 Single Crochets in the chain 3 space from previous round.

1 Single Crochet in each stitch around.(Don't forget the 2 Chain stitches)

3 Single Crochets in the 2nd set of Chain 3 space.

Slip Stitch on top of the first Single Crochet.

Change color while making slip stitch.

22 Stitches.

Round 3:-

Chain 4(First Chain 3 will be counted as 1 Double Crochet and the remaining Chain 1 will be counted as Chain 1 space.

1 Double Crochet in the next stitch.

Repeat*(1DC,Chain 1)

Slip stitch into the third chain.

22 Double Crochets and 22 Chain 1 spaces.

Round 4:-

Chain 2.(Not Counted as a stitch)

1 Double Crochet in the same stitch.

1 Double Crochet in the next chain space.

Repeat 1 Double Crochet in each stitch around.

Slip stitch on top of the first Double Crochet.

44 stitches.

Round 5:-

Chain 4(First Chain 3 will be counted as 1 Double Crochet and the remaining Chain 1 will be counted as Chain 1 space.

1 Double Crochet in the next stitch.

Repeat*(1DC,Chain 1)

Slip stitch into the third chain.

Change Color while making the slip stitch.

44 Double Crochets and 44 Chain 1 spaces.

Round 6:-

Chain 2(Not Counted as a stitch.

1 Double Crochet cluster stitch in the chain space.

Repeat 1 Double Crochet Cluster stitch in each stitch around.

Slip stitch on top of the first Cluster stitch

44 Cluster Stitches.

To Make a Double Crochet Cluster Stitch:-

1. Yarn over, insert the hook into the stitch, yarn over and pull through 2 loops on the hook.(This is same as doing a Double Crochet Stitch. It is just that , you don't finish the Double Crochet Stitch and continue doing the first part of the Double Crochet Stitch again and again).You should have 2 loops on the hook.
2. Yarn over, insert the hook in the same stitch, yarn over and pull through 2 loops. You should have 3 loops on the hook.
3. Continue with the first part of Double Crochet stitch untill you have 4 loops on the hook.
4. Yarn over and draw the yarn through all 4 loops on the hook.
5. Chain 1.

Round 7:-

Slip stitch into space between the two cluster stitches. Chain 2(Not Counted as a stitch)

1 Double Crochet Cluster stitch each in between the cluster stitches from the previous round.

Slip stitch on top of the cluster stitch. 

Change color while making the slip stitch.

44 Cluster Stitches.

Round 8:-

Chain 4(First Chain 2 will be counted as 1 Double Crochet and the remaining Chain 2 will be counted as Chain 2 space.

1 Double Crochet in the next space in between the cluster stitches.

Chain 2

Repeat*(1DC, Chain 2)

Slip stitch into the 2nd chain to end the round.

44 Double Crochets ,44 Chain 2 spaces.

Round 9:-

Chain 2.(Not Counted as a stitch)

3 Double Crochets each in the Chain 2 spaces.

Slip stitch on top of the first Double Crochet.

132 stitches.

Round 10:-

Chain 3

Skip 1 stitch.

1 Single Crochet in the next stitch.

Repeat*(Chain 3, Skip 1, 1 Single Crochet)

Round 11:-

Slip stitch into the Chain Space.

2 Double Crochets, Chain 2, 2 Double Crochet(all in the same stitch)

Chain 1

Skip the next chain space.

Repeat*((2DC, Chain 2, 2 DC),Chain 1, Skip the chain space)

Slip stitch on top of the first Double Crochet.

Change color while making the slip stitch.

Round 12:-

Chain 1(Not Counted as a stitch)

1 Single Crochet in the same stitch.

1 Single Crochet in the next 2 stitches

1 Heart Stitch in the Chain 2 space.

1 Single Crochet each in the next 6 stitches.

1 Picot Stitch in the chain space(Chain 3, Slip stitch into the bottom stitch)

1 Single Crochet each in the next 6 stitches.

1 Picot Stitch in the chain space(Chain 3, Slip stitch into the bottom stitch)

1 Single Crochet each in the next 6 stitches.

To Make a Heart Stitch:-
