T-shirt yarn is one of the best choices for making crochet baskets. Crocheting with tshirt yarn is so satisfying and fun to work with. They work up pretty fast and quick. The finished basket turns up sturdy enough to hold your things without collapsing. Crochet Basket patterns are so versatile.
If you have a little one at your home, then am sure there would be many toys strewn around the house. Here is a fun Crochet Toy Truck Basket pattern to store all those cluttered toys. The young ones can store their toys and they will also have fun playing around with the Toy Truck.
Materials Used:-
T-shirt Yarn
10mm Crochet Hook
Size:-
16/7 Inches- Can be Customized to any size of your choice.
Notes:-
For the whole pattern the Starting Chain 1 is not counted as a stitch.
It is just to bring the yarn to a working height.

Round 1:-
Start with a slip knot.
Chain 21.
1 Single Crochet in the 2nd Chain from the Hook.
1 Single Crochet in rest of the stitches untill the last stitch.
1 Single Crochet in rest of the stitches untill the last stitch.
3 Single Crochet in the last stitch.
Continue working on the opposite side.
1 Single Crochet each in rest of the stitches untill the last stitch.
1 Single Crochet each in rest of the stitches untill the last stitch.
3 Single Crochet in the last stitch.
Slip stitch on top of the 1st Single Crochet.
Round 2:-
Chain 1(Not Counted as a Stitch)
1 Single Crochet in the same stitch.
1 Single Crochet in the same stitch.
1 Single Crochet each in rest of the stitches untill you reach the turning 3 Single Crochets.
3 Single Crochets and mark the 2nd stitch with a stitch marker.
This would be the stitch for making the increase in the next round.

Keep Repeating round 3 untill you reach the size needed and weave off.
Just Remember :-
- Start each round with Chain 1(Not Counted as a Stitch, 1 Single Crochet in the same stitch.
- Mark each corner stitch.
- 3 Single Crochets in the marked corner stitches.
- As the size of the rectangle grows, the Single Crochets between the marked stitches will keep increasing.
Change Yarn Color.
Count back 12 stitches from one corner.
Join the yarn and make slip stitches from one side to the other side.
Once you reach the other side, make 1 Back loop Single Crochet in each stitch around.
Make 1 Single Crochet each on the Slip Stitches as well.
Sides of the Truck Basket:-1 Single Crochet in each of the stitches untill you reach the size needed.
Do not slip stitch.
Work in continuous rounds and weave off.
Turning Base for the back of the Truck Basket:-Change Yarn Color.
Join the yarn by inserting the hook into the bottom corner stitch of the front of the Truck basket.
1 Back loop Single Crochet in each stitch around.
While making the last Back loop Single Crochet at the other side, insert your hook into the side stitch of the front of the truck basket as well.
This will join both the front and back of the basket.
1 Slip stitch into the side stitch of the front of the truck basket.
Turn you work .
1 Single Crochet in each stitch around.
Repeat 1 Single Crochet in each stitch untill you reach half size of the front of the truck basket.
Remember to join the front and back of the basket while making the turning stitches.
Wheels:- (Make total 6 Wheels)Use 2 Shades of Yarn.
I was out of T-shirt yarn, so I have used Bulky yarn.
Start with a Magic Circle.
Chain 1.(Not counted as a stitch)
6 Single Crochets in the Magic Circle.
Slip stitch on top of the first Single Crochet.
Change color while making the slip stitch.
Chain 1(Not counted as a stitch- Start the next stitch in the same stitch)
2 Single crochets in each stitch around.
Slip stitch on the 1 Single Crochet and weave off.
Headlight:-(Make 2 )
Repeat the same as the Wheels for the headlight without changing the yarn color.
Assembling:-
Using the yarn needle sew the headlight in front of the Basket Truck.
Sew the wheels onto the sides of the Basket truck.
Weave off yarn ends and it is ready for the toys to be put in.
Here is the Summary of the Pattern:-

As the size of the rectangle grows, the SCs between the marked Sts will keep increasing.
Turning Base:-
Change Yarn Color.

Join the yarn and make SL stitches from one side to the other side.

Make 1 SC each on the SL stitches as well.
