Crochet Hand Clutch Purse

It’s always exciting to make your own crochet accessories. Learning how to crochet your own crochet purse or crochet pouch is a fun activity. Handbags and purses are necessities for almost everyday and they are useful in carrying your daily items like your mobile and other small things. The best thing about making a crochet purse is that they are completely versatile and you can customize it right from scratch to match your liking and choice. They can be easily made for any occasion or make one to match your dress.

Today am sharing the pattern for this simple and easy to make Crochet Hand Clutch Purse. This purse is made with simple stitches worked together in the same stitch to give the lovely textured look. This works up fairly quick. Make them for yourself or give them as gifts to your friends and family.

Materials Used:- 4 ply Cotton Knitting Yarn 4 mm Crochet Hook

Size:-
10 Inches - can be customized to any size

Round 1:-
Start with a slip knot.
Chain 42 - (40 Chains for the length and Chain 2 for turning stitch)
This measures 10 inches.
You can change these starting stitches according to the size you wish to make.
Make even number of stitches plus 2 stitches for turning stitch. 

Round 2:-
1 Double Crochet in the third chain from the hook.
1 Double Crochet each in the remaining stitches untill the last stitch.
6 Double Crochets in the last stitch.
Turn your work and start working on the opposite side.
1 Double Crochet each in the remaining stitches untill the last stitch.
6 Double Crochets in the last stitch.
Slip stitch on top of the first Double Crochet.







Round 3:-
Start off with a Single Crochet but do not finish the stitch.
Yarn over and Pull up a loop in the same stitch.
You should have 4 loops on the hook.
Yarn over and pull through all the loops.
Chain 1.
Skip the next stitch.
Repeat(SC(but do not finish the stitch),YO and Pull up a loop, YO and pull through all the loops),Ch1,Skip 1)
Slip stitch on top of the first stitch.








Round 4 :-
Slip Stitch into the chain 1 space.
We will be working only in the chain spaces.
Start off with a Single Crochet but do not finish the stitch.
Yarn over and Pull up a loop in the same stitch.
You should have 4 loops on the hook.
Yarn over and pull through all the loops.
Chain 1.
Skip the next stitch.
Repeat(SC(but do not finish the stitch),YO and Pull up a loop, YO and pull through all the loops),Ch1,Skip 1)
Slip stitch on top of the first stitch.





Round 5 Onwards:-
Keep repeating Round 4 untill you reach the size required.
Change yarn color while making the last slip stitch.






Border:-
Chain 2 - Not counted as a stitch.
1 Front Post Double Crochet in the same stitch.
1 Double Crochet in the chain space.
Repeat(1FPDC,1DC)
Slip Stitch on top of the first Front Post Double Crochet.







Button Loop:-
Fold the purse in half and gauge the middle stitch and mark it. We will be making the Button Loop in the marked stitch.
Chain 1 - not counted a stitch. Start the next stitch in the same stitch.
1 Single Crochet in each stitch untill the marked stitch.
Chain 10 and 1 Single Crochet in the same stitch(this will create the loop - you can change these stitches according to the size of the button you are using)
1 Single Crochet each in the remaining stitches.
Slip stitch on top of the first Single Crochet.
Using a Yarn needle, sew the button on the opposite side of the loop.
Weave off yarn ends.









 

Here is the Summary of the Pattern:-

Round 1:-

Start off with a SC but do not finish the stitch.
Yarn over and Pull up a loop in the same stitch.
You should have 4 loops on the hook.
Yarn over and pull through all the loops.
Ch 1.
Skip the next stitch.
Repeat(SC(but do not finish the stitch),YO and Pull up a loop, YO and pull through all the loops),Ch1, Skip 1)
SL on top of the first stitch.

Round 5 Onwards:-
