Easy Double Thick Crochet Potholder in the Rounds


Crochet Potholders are a quick and fun project you will definitely enjoy making at any time of the year around. Crocheted potholders are essential in a kitchen. They are perfect for gifting. They are the best option for Craft fares. You can easily whip up a couple of them in no time at all.

Here is a simple and Easy Double Thick Crochet Potholder in the Rounds pattern. This free pattern is made up of simple combination of basic crochet stitches. It works up quite quick. Its always preferable to use cotton yarn to make the potholders to make it more durable and machine washable.




Materials Used:-
8 Ply Cotton Yarn
4 mm Crochet Hook

Size:-
7 inches- Customizable to any size

Let's Start...!!!

Round 1:-
Start with a slip knot.
Chain 30 +1 Chain extra for the turning Chain. 
If you wish to make a larger size potholder, then you can adjust these starting number of chain stitches according to your requirement.



Round 2:-
1 Single Crochet in the 2nd chain from the hook.
1 Single Crochet each in the remaining stitches untill the last stitch.
3 Single Crochets in the last stitch.
Turn your work and start working on the opposite side.
1 Single Crochet each in the remaining stitches untill the last stitch.
3 Single Crochets in the last stitch.
Slip stitch on top of the 1st Single Crochet.








Round 3:-
Chain 1.(Not Counted as a stitch)
This round onwards we will be working only in the back loops.
1 Back Loop Half Double Crochet in each stitch around.
Once you reach the end do not make a slip stitch. We will be working in continuous rounds.




Round 4 Onwards:-
1 Back Loop Half Double Crochet in each stitch around untill its around 7 inches in size or untill it forms a Square shape.
At the end of the last round, make a slip stitch on top of the first Half Double Crochet.





Joining:-
Align both the sides neatly and join them by making 1 Back Loop Single Crochet in  each stitch.


Hanging Loop:-
Chain 10 and make a Slip Stitch on the bottom stitch and weave off.






Here is the Summary of the Pattern:-

Round 1:-

1 Back Loop Half Double Crochet in each St around.
Once you reach the end do not make a SL. We will be working in continuous rounds.

Round 4 Onwards:-
1 Back Loop Half Double Crochet in each St around untill its around 7 inches in size or untill it forms a Square shape.
At the end of the last round, make a SL on top of the first Half Double Crochet.

Joining:-
Align both the sides neatly and join them by making 1 Back Loop SC in  each St.

Hanging Loop:-
Ch 10 and make a SL on the bottom St and weave off.
