How To Make a Quick and Easy Crochet Snowflake Ornament


When you think of making Christmas decorations, the first thing which comes to your mind is STARS and SNOW!!!Decorating Christmas tree is probably one of the most exciting things to do with your family during the holiday season. Using handmade crochet ornaments makes it even more special.

Here is a Quick and Simple Crochet Snowflake Ornament pattern. The Pattern is very simple and quick to make. You can easily make a couple of these pretty snowflake ornaments in no time at all. These Snowflake Ornaments are definitely fun  to make and a very easy holiday project!




Materials Used:-
4 Ply Cotton Knitting Yarn
3 mm Crochet Hook

Size:-
3 inches

Let's Start:-

Round 1:-
Start with a Magic Circle.
Chain 2 (Not Counted as a Stitch. It is just to bring the yarn to a working height)
12 Double Crochets in the circle.
Pull the yarn end to close the gap.
Slip Stitch on top of the first Double Crochet.



Round 2:-
Chain 1.(Not Counted as a Stitch. It is just to bring the yarn to a working height)
In the first Stitch make - 
*1 Single Crochet,
1 Double Crochet.
1 Treble Crochet,
Chain 3 Picot,(i.e. Chain 3 and make a Slip stitch into the 1st Chain)
Chain 5 Picot,(i.e. Chain 5 and make a Slip stitch into the 1st Chain)
Chain 3 Picot,(i.e. Chain 3 and make a Slip stitch into the 1st Chain)
Finally, make a Slip Stitch on top of the Treble Crochet.
1 Double Crochet,
1 Single Crochet.*
1 Slip Stitch in the next stitch.
Repeat((1SC,1DC,1Trbl,Ch3 Picot, Ch5 Picot , Ch3 Picot, Sl on Trbl, 1DC, 1SC), Sl into next stitch)
Once you finish , weave off the yarn ends.

How to make a Treble Crochet??...here it is.....!!
  1. Yarn over hook twice, insert hook in the Stitch and Pull up a loop.(4 loops on hook). 
  2. Yarn over, pull through 2 loops on hook (3 loops remain on hook). 
  3. Yarn over, pull through 2 loops on hook (2 loops remain on hook).
  4. Yarn over, pull 2 loops on hook (1 treble crochet complete).














Hanging Loop:-

Use a small bit of a Satin Ribbon or a piece of Fancy String or Yarn end to make the hanging loop.




Here is the Summary of the Pattern:-

Round 1:-
Start with a Magic Circle.
Ch 2 (Not Counted as a St. It is just to bring the yarn to a working height)
12 DCs in the circle.
Pull the yarn end to close the gap.
SL on top of the first DC.

Round 2:-
Ch 1.(Not Counted as a St. It is just to bring the yarn to a working height)
In the first St make - 
*1 SC,
1 DC.
1 Trbl,
Ch 3 Picot,(i.e. Ch 3 and make a SL into the 1st Ch)
Ch 5 Picot,(i.e. Ch 5 and make a SL into the 1st Ch)
Ch 3 Picot,(i.e. Ch 3 and make a SL into the 1st Ch)
Finally, make a SL on top of the Trbl.
1 DC,
1 SC.*
1 SL in the next St.
Repeat((1SC,1DC,1Trbl,Ch3 Picot, Ch5 Picot , Ch3 Picot, Sl on Trbl, 1DC, 1SC), Sl into next St)
Once you finish , weave off the yarn ends.

Hanging Loop:-
