Easy and Simple Crochet Triangle Shawl



A crochet triangle shawl is one of the most versatile crochet projects you can make and Simple triangle shawls are good to wear with any outfit. Even with simple crochet stitches you can whip up a beautiful Crocheted Triangle Shawl.

Triangle Shawls are usually worked from top down. Here is a pattern for a very Easy and Simple Crochet Triangle Shawl. The pattern is made with only Double Crochets and Chain stitches. With just repeating the increase pattern you can make it to your desired size. They also make great gifts for your loved ones.

Cake Yarns work the best for simple triangle shawls. The color change looks stunning. You can also use your stash yarn to get a colorful effect.




Materials Used:-
  • 8 Ply Variegated Cake Yarn
  • 4 mm Crochet Hook
Size:-
Height -40 Inches, Width at Top - 60 Inches - can be customized to any size

Let's Start:-

Round 1:-
Start with a Magic Circle.
Chain 2.(Not counted as a stitch)
3 Double Crochet,
Chain 1,
3 Double Crochets.
Pull the yarn end to close the Magic Circle.
Once you are done, Chain 2.

Straight Edge Turning Chain:-
Usually you would Chain 2, turn and start working the next round. Here is a quick tip to have a nice straight edge .
  • Insert the hook into the 1st chain from the bottom.
  • Yarn over and pull up a loop. You should have 2 loops on the hook.
  • Turn your project and insert the hook into the first stitch.
  • Yarn over and pull up a loop. You will have 3 loops on the hook.
  • Again, yarn over and pull through 2 loops. You will have 2 loops on the hook.
  • Lastly, yarn over and pull through 2 loops.
  • This will make one Double Crochet.







Round 2:-
(1 Double Crochet is already made while making the turning chain)
1 Double Crochet in the first Stitch.(that's total 2 Double Crochet in the first stitch).
1 Double Crochet in each stitch untill you reach the Chain 1 Space.
In the Chain 1 Space make -( 2 Double Crochets, Chain 1, 2 Double Crochets)
1 Double Crochet in each stitch untill the last stitch.
2 Double Crochets in the last stitch.
Once you reach end, Chain 2 and use the Straight Edge Turning method mentioned in previous round to make the turning chain.







Round 3:-
(1 Double Crochet is already made while making the turning chain)
1 Double Crochet in the first Stitch.(that's total 2 Double Crochet in the first stitch).
1 Double Crochet in each stitch untill you reach the Chain 1 Space.
In the Chain 1 Space make -( 2 Double Crochets, Chain 1, 2 Double Crochets)
1 Double Crochet in each stitch untill the last stitch.
2 Double Crochets in the last stitch.
Once you reach end, Chain 2 and use the Straight Edge Turning method  to make the turning chain.





Round 4 Onwards:-
Keep repeating Round 3 untill the size needed and weave off.














Here is the Summary of the Pattern:-

Round 1:-

1 DC in each St untill the last St.
2 DCs in the last St.
Once you reach end, Ch 2 and use the Straight Edge Turning method  to make the turning Ch.

  1. Thank you so much for all your patterns and tutorials. I am 82 and haven't crocheted in 30 years. I use your new stitches to make dishcloths for practice before investing in yarn for my plan of making lapghans for the local nursing homes. Our local comfort quilt group makes lap quilts but they are all alike. I'd like to crochet a lot of different patterns and colors. Just because you are in a nursing home doesn't mean you can't be an individual.
