Simple and Easy Double Crochet Batch Blanket


Crocheted Blankets are the most versatile projects you can make to let your imagination take a stride. Even with simple stitches you can make beautiful themed crochet blankets suitable for any occasion. It is one of those sort of crochet projects which you can sit and have a relaxing time.

Here is a simple pattern for Double Crochet Batch Blanket Pattern. It is Two repeat pattern made with simple stitches. You can use a solid color yarn or a variegated yarn for a colorful look.




Materials Used:-
8 Ply Cotton Yarn 
4 mm Crochet Hook

Size:-
36 inches- Customizable to any size

Let's Start:-

Round 1:-
Start with a Slip Knot.
Chain 100.
This measures around 36 inches.
You can adjust the size of the blanket by altering these stitches according to your requirement.
Start with any Even number of Chains.


Round 2:-
1 Single Crochet in the second chain from the hook.
1 Single Crochet in each stitch.
Chain 1 and turn.




Round 3:-
1 Single Crochet in the First stitch.
Chain 2.
Skip 2 stitches.
1 Single Crochet in the next Stitch.
Chain 2.
Skip 2 stitches.
Repeat(1 SC, Ch2, Sk 2)
Once you reach end, Chain 2.

Straight Edge Turning Chain:-
Usually you would Chain 2, turn and start working the next round. Here is a quick tip to have a nice straight edge .
  • Insert the hook into the 1st chain from the bottom.
  • Yarn over and pull up a loop. You should have 2 loops on the hook.
  • Turn your project and insert the hook into the first stitch.
  • Yarn over and pull up a loop. You will have 3 loops on the hook.
  • Again, yarn over and pull through 2 loops. You will have 2 loops on the hook.
  • Lastly, yarn over and pull through 2 loops.
  • This will make one Double Crochet.








Round 4:-
(1 Double Crochet is already made while making the turning chain)
3 Double Crochets into the Chain 2 space.
Repeat(3DC) in each of the Chain 2 spaces.
1 Double Crochet into the last stitch.
Chain 1 and turn your work.






Round 5:-
1 Single Crochet in the First stitch.
Chain 2.
Skip the 3 Double Crochets.
1 Single Crochet in the next stitch( i.e.in between the set of 3 Double Crochets)
Chain 2.
Repeat(1 SC(in between the set of 3 DC's), Ch2)
Once you reach end, Chain 2 and use the Straight Edge Turning method mentioned in Round 3 to make the turning chain.









Round 6:-
(1 Double Crochet is already made while making the turning chain)
3 Double Crochets into the Chain 2 space.
Repeat(3DC) in each of the Chain 2 spaces.
1 Double Crochet into the last stitch.
Chain 1 and turn your work.




Round 7 Onwards:-
Keep Repeating Round 5 and Round 6 untill the size needed and weave off.


Here is the Summary of the Pattern:-

Round 1:-

Round 5:-
1 SC in the First St.
Ch 2.
Skip the 3 DCs.
1 SC in the next St( i.e.in between the set of 3 DCs)
Ch 2.
Repeat(1 SC(in between the set of 3 DC's), Ch2)
Once you reach end, Ch 2 and use the Straight Edge Turning method mentioned in Round 3 to make the turning Ch.

Round 6:-
(1 DC is already made while making the turning Ch)
3 DCs into the Ch 2 space.
Repeat(3DC) in each of the Ch 2 spaces.
1 DC into the last St.
Ch 1 and turn your work.

Round 7 Onwards:-
