Simple Crochet On The Go Blanket Pattern

Crochet Blankets with textured look are the best and the textured stitches add bulk and volume to the finished crochet blanket. There are many Stitch Variations you can use and customize to make a Cozy Crochet Blanket. Even with simple stitches you can make a beautiful themed crochet blanket suitable for any occasion. 

Here is a Simple Crochet On The Go Blanket Pattern.This Crochet Blanket Pattern is a No Fuss pattern made with simple stitches.It is Two repeat pattern which makes it a quick project to whip up.

The Textured look of the Blanket is made with Forked Double Crochet Cluster Stitches with a slight variation to the original stitch technique. Even with a slight tweak to a Crochet Stitch you can come up with a wonderful looking design.




Materials Used:-
Worsted Weight Cake Yarn
5 mm Crochet Hook


Size:-
38 inches- Customizable to any size

Let's Start:-

Round 1:-
Start with a Slip Knot.
Chain 100.
This measures around 38 inches.
You can adjust the size of the blanket by altering these stitches according to your requirement.



Round 2:-
1 Single Crochet in the Second Chain from the hook.
1 Single Crochet each in the remaining stitches.
Once you reach end, Chain 2 and Use the Straight Edge Turning Chain to make the Turning Chain.

Straight Edge Turning Chain:-
Usually you would Chain 2, turn and start working the next round. Here is a quick tip to have a nice straight edge .
  • Insert the hook into the 1st chain from the bottom.
  • Yarn over and pull up a loop. You should have 2 loops on the hook.
  • Turn your project and insert the hook into the first stitch.
  • Yarn over and pull up a loop. You will have 3 loops on the hook.
  • Again, yarn over and pull through 2 loops. You will have 2 loops on the hook.
  • Lastly, yarn over and pull through 2 loops.
  • This will make one Double Crochet.





 
Round 3:-
(1 Double Crochet is already made while making the turning chain)
This Round we will be making  Forked Double Crochet Cluster in each of the stitches.
Start with a Double Crochet i.e. Yarn Over and Pull up a loop ,but do not finish the stitch(3 Loops on the Hook)
Again, Yarn Over and Pull up a loop from the next stitch(5 Loops on the Hook).
Yarn Over and Pull through all the 5 loops.(that's one stitch complete)
Start the next Stitch in same stitch.
*Yarn Over and Pull up a loop from the same chain as last stitch made(3 Loops on the Hook).
Again, Yarn Over and Pull up a loop from the next stitch(5 Loops on the Hook).
Yarn Over and Pull through all the 5 loops.(that's one stitch complete)*
Repeat from * to * in rest of the stitches.
Once you reach the end, Chain 2 and turn your work.       
                                 












Round 4:-
1 Single Crochet in each stitch.
Once you reach end, Chain 2 and Use the Straight Edge Turning Chain to make the Turning Chain.








Round 5 Onwards:-
Keep repeating Round 3 and Round 4 untill the size needed and weave off.






Here is the Summary of the Pattern:-

Round 4:-
1SC in each St.
Once you reach end, Ch 2 and Use the Straight Edge Turning Ch to make the Turning Ch.
