Easiest Crochet Chunky Yarn Blanket

Using Chunky Yarn for making Crochet Blankets is a favorite choice among many crocheters. Chunky yarn has a soft texture and they make great warm cozy crochet projects. They work great for Crochet Pillows , Cushions and they are the best to make Crocheted Blankets. 

Today am sharing the pattern for a Easiest Crochet Chunky Yarn Blanket. This is a easy pattern that works up really quick. The Chunky yarn and a large size hook works wonderfully well together. The  blanket pattern uses only Half Double Crochets worked in the Back Loops. This gives a a lovely texture and volume to the finished Blanket.

You can use any yarn of your choice for the blanket but the chunky yarn makes this a very quick pattern to make. Crochet blankets and crochet throws patterns are fun and easy to make with chunky yarn because they work up quickly and are extra cozy.

Materials Used:-

Chunky Blanket Yarn - 2 Skeins
10 mm Crochet Hook

Size:-

40 inches- Customizable to any size

Ch - Chain

DC - Double Crochet

SC - Single Crochet

• For the whole pattern , we will be working only in the Back Loops.

Round 1:-

Start with a Slip Knot.

Chain 40.

You can adjust the size of the blanket by altering these stitches according to your requirement.

Start with any number of chains.

Round 2:-

1 Half Double Crochet In the 2nd Chain from the hook.

1 Half Double Crochet in each of the remaining stitches.

Once you reach end, Chain 2 and use the Straight Edge Turning Chain to make the Turning Chain.

Straight Edge Turning Chain:-

Usually you would Chain 2, turn and start working the next round. Here is a quick tip to have a nice straight edge .

• Insert the hook into the 1st chain from the bottom.
• Yarn over and pull up a loop. You should have 2 loops on the hook.
• Turn your project and insert the hook into the first stitch.
• Yarn over and pull up a loop. You will have 3 loops on the hook.
• Lastly, yarn over and pull through all the 3 loops.
• This will make one Half Double Crochet.

Round 3:-

**This round we will be working only in the Back loops.

1 Back Loop Half Double Crochet is already made with the Turning Chain.

1 Back Loop Half Double Crochet into each of the stitches.

Once you reach end, Chain 2 and use the Straight Edge Turning Chain mentioned in the previous round to make the Turning Chain.

Round 4 Onwards:-

Keep Repeating Round 3  untill the size needed and weave off.

Here is the Summary of the Pattern:-
