Easy Pattern and Tutorial for Diamond Crochet Table Runner

Crochet Table runners are a perfect way to dress up and decorate your Coffee Table or Dining Table. Adding a hand crocheted table runner is an easy way to add some personal touch , beauty and elegance to your dining room. Crocheted Table Runners are versatile. You can make them in any size of your need. You can also color code them according to the holiday seasons or your Home ambiance.

Today am sharing the pattern for a Simple and Easy to make Diamond Crochet Table Runner. The pattern is made with simple crochet stitches with repeat rounds. You can alter the table runner accordingly to lengthen or shorten the size of your table runner. This is an easy home decor crochet pattern that you’ll enjoy making.




Materials Used:-
4 Ply Cotton Knitting Yarn
4 mm Crochet Hook

Size:-
10/30  inches- Customizable to any size

Lets Start ...!!!!

Round 1:-
Start with a Slip Knot.
Chain 40.
This measures around 10 inches.
You can adjust the size by altering these stitches according to your requirement.
Start with any multiple of 10.


Round 2:-
1 Double Crochet in the 5th Chain from the hook.(this would be counted as 2 Double Crochets i.e. including the 4 Chains)
1 Double Crochet each in the next 4 stitches.
That would be total 6 Double Crochets.
Skip 2 Stitches.
(1 Double Crochet , Chain 5, 1 Double Crochet in the same stitch)
Skip 2 Stitches.
1 Double Crochet each in the next 5 stitches.
Repeat(Skip 2,(1DC,Ch5,1DC)- all in the same stitch , Skip 2, 1DC*5)
1 Double Crochet in the last stitch.
Once you reach end, Chain 2.

Straight Edge Turning Chain:-
Usually you would Chain 2, turn and start working the next round. Here is a quick tip to have a nice straight edge .
  • Insert the hook into the 1st chain from the bottom.
  • Yarn over and pull up a loop. You should have 2 loops on the hook.
  • Turn your project and insert the hook into the first stitch.
  • Yarn over and pull up a loop. You will have 3 loops on the hook.
  • Again, yarn over and pull through 2 loops. You will have 2 loops on the hook.
  • Lastly, yarn over and pull through 2 loops.
  • This will make one Double Crochet.











Round 3:-
(1 Double Crochet is already made while making the turning chain)
1 Double Crochet each in the next 5 Stitches.
Chain 2.
1 Single Crochet into the Chain 5 space.
Chain 2.
Repeat(1DC*5, Ch2, 1SC, Ch2)
1 Double Crochet in the last stitch.
Chain 2 and use the Straight Edge Turning chain method  mentioned in the previous round to make the turning chain.








Round 4:-
(1 Double Crochet is already made while making the turning chain)
Skip 2 Stitches.
(1 Double Crochet , Chain 5, 1 Double Crochet in the same stitch)
Skip 2 Stitches.
1 Double Crochet each in the next 5 stitches.
Repeat(Skip 2,(1DC,Ch5,1DC)- all in the same stitch , Skip 2, 1DC*5)
1 Double Crochet in the last stitch.
Once you reach end, Chain 2 and use the Straight Edge Turning chain method to make the turning chain.








Round 5:-
(1 Double Crochet is already made while making the turning chain)
Chain 2.
1 Single Crochet into the Chain 5 space.
Chain 2.
1 Double Crochet each in the next 5 Stitches.
Repeat(Ch2, 1SC, Ch2,1DC*5)
1 Double Crochet in the last stitch.
Chain 2 and use the Straight Edge Turning chain method  mentioned to make the turning chain.






Round 6:-
(1 Double Crochet is already made while making the turning chain)
1 Double Crochet each in the next 5 stitches.
Skip 2 Stitches.
(1 Double Crochet , Chain 5, 1 Double Crochet in the same stitch)
Skip 2 Stitches.
Repeat(1DC*5,Skip 2,(1DC,Ch5,1DC)- all in the same stitch , Skip 2)
1 Double Crochet in the last stitch.
Once you reach end, Chain 2 and use the Straight Edge Turning chain method to make the turning chain.







Round 7 Onwards:-
Keep repeating Round 3, 4, 5 and 6 untill the size needed and weave off.











Here is the Summary of the Pattern:-

Round 1:-

(1 DC , Ch 5, 1 DC in the same St)
Sk 2 Sts.
1 DC each in the next 5 Sts.
Repeat(Sk 2,(1DC,Ch5,1DC)- all in the same St , Sk 2, 1DC*5)
1 DC in the last St.
Once you reach end, Ch 2 and use the Straight Edge Turning Ch method to make the turning Ch.

(1 DC , Ch 5, 1 DC in the same St)
Sk 2 Sts.
Repeat(1DC*5,Sk 2,(1DC,Ch5,1DC)- all in the same St , Sk 2 )
1 DC in the last St.
Once you reach end, Ch 2 and use the Straight Edge Turning Ch method to make the turning Ch.

Round 7 Onwards:-
