Let's Start:-

Round 1:-
Start with a Slip Knot.
Chain 90 + 6 Chains for the turning Chain.
This measures around 36 inches.
You can adjust the size of the blanket by altering these stitches according to your requirement.
Start with any multiple of 10 + 6 chain extra for the turning chain.

Round 2:-
1 Double Crochet in the Fourth Chain from the hook.
1 Double Crochet each in the remaining stitches.
Once you reach end, Chain 1 and turn.

Round 3:-
1 Front Loop Single Crochet in each of the stitches.
Once you reach end, Chain 2.

Straight Edge Turning Chain:-
Usually you would Chain 2, turn and start working the next round. Here is a quick tip to have a nice straight edge .
  • Insert the hook into the 1st chain from the bottom.
  • Yarn over and pull up a loop. You should have 2 loops on the hook.
  • Turn your project and insert the hook into the first stitch.
  • Yarn over and pull up a loop. You will have 3 loops on the hook.
  • Again, yarn over and pull through 2 loops. You will have 2 loops on the hook.
  • Lastly, yarn over and pull through 2 loops.
  • This will make one Double Crochet.

Round 4:-
(1 Double Crochet is already made while making the turning chain)
1 Double Crochet each in the next 2 Stitches.
That's total 3 Double Crochets made.
1 Front Loop Double Crochet into the next stitch of one row below. Here, instead of inserting the hook from under the stitch, yarn over and insert the hook from above the stitch.
Repeat((1DC*3), 1 FLDC (into the stitch from 1 row below)).
1 Double Crochet into the last stitch.
Chain 1 and turn your work.

Round 5:-
1 Front Loop Single Crochet in each of the stitches.
Once you reach end, Chain 2 and use the Straight Edge Turning chain method mentioned above to make the turning chain.

Round 6:-
(1 Double Crochet is already made while making the turning chain)
1 Front Loop Double Crochet into the next stitch of one row below. Again, instead of inserting the hook from under the stitch, yarn over and insert the hook from above the stitch.
1 Double Crochet each in the next 3 Stitches.
Repeat(1 FLDC (into the stitch from 1 row below),(1DC*3)).
1 Double Crochet into the last stitch.
Chain 1 and turn your work.

Round 7:-
1 Front Loop Single Crochet in each of the stitches.
Once you reach end, Chain 2 and use the Straight Edge Turning chain method mentioned above to make the turning chain.

Round 8 Onwards:-
Keep repeating Round 4 ,5,6 and 7 untill the size needed and weave off.
If you wish you can end the blanket with a row of 1 Double Crochet in each stitch.

  1. DOES 1DC*3 MEAN 1 DC IN NEXT 3 STITCHES OR 1 DC 3 TIMES IN SAME STITCH. I AM THINKING THE FIRST MEANING BUT I'M NOT SURE

    1. yes..you are correct.. ....its 1 DC in next 3 stitches..... 3 Double Crochets in same stitch would be written as 3DC.
..... Hope this clears ur doubt 😊
