Textured Crochet Stitches work the best for Crocheted Blankets. Not only are they visually appealing , the textured stitches add bulk and volume to the finished crochet blanket. The most common Stitches used to add textured to a project are the Front Post and Back Post Double Crochets. With just using these stitches in a specific pattern , you can create wonderful textured Blankets.
Today am sharing the pattern for the Crochet Diagonal Raised Stitch Blanket. The Diagonal Raised Stitch is a beautiful stitch which creates a Textured cozy and Unique Diagonal look. This stitch is very versatile. Apart from Crochet Blankets, you can also make Pretty textured Placemats, Tablemat , Pillows and Scarves.

Round 2:-
1 Double Crochet in the 3rd Chain from the hook.
1 Double Crochet each in the remaining stitches.Once you reach end, Chain 2 and use the Straight Edge Turning Chain method to make the Turning Chain.
Straight Edge Turning Chain:-
Usually you would Chain 2, turn and start working the next round. Here is a quick tip to have a nice straight edge .
- Insert the hook into the 1st chain from the bottom.
- Yarn over and pull up a loop. You should have 2 loops on the hook.
- Turn your project and insert the hook into the first stitch.
- Yarn over and pull up a loop. You will have 3 loops on the hook.
- Tarn over and pull through all the 3 loops.
- This will make one Half Double Crochet.
Round 3:-
(1 Half Double Crochet is already made while making the turning chain)
1 Front Post Double Crochet each in the next 3 stitches.
1 Back Post Double Crochet each in the next 3 stitches.
Repeat((1FPDC)*3,(1BPDC)*3)).
1 Half Double Crochet in the last stitch.
Once you reach end, Chain 2 and use the Straight Edge Turning Chain method mentioned in the previous round to make the Turning Chain.
How to make a Front Post Double Crochet...??:-
- Yarn Over and insert your hook from front to back to front around the post of the stitch.
- Finish the stitch as the normal Double Crochet , i.e .Yarn Over and pull up a loop, Yarn Over and pull through 2 loops on your hook, Yarn Over and pull through remaining two loops on your hook.
How to make a Back Post Double Crochet...??:-

1 Front Post Double Crochet in the 1st remaining stitch.
1 Half Double Crochet in the last stitch.

Round 5:-

1 Back Post Double Crochet each in the next 2 stitches.

Round 8:-

1 Back Post Double Crochet in the next stitch.

Repeat((1FPDC)*3,(1BPDC)*3)).
*You will have 3 Stitches remaining at the end.
1 Back Post Double Crochet each in the next 2 Stitches.
1 Half Double Crochet in the last stitch.
Once you reach end, Chain 2 and use the Straight Edge Turning Chain method to make the Turning Chain.
Round 9 Onwards:-
Keep repeating the rounds from Round 3 to Round 8 untill the size needed and weave off.
Round 1:-
Start with a Slip Knot.
Ch 96 + 3 Chs for the Turning Ch.
This measures around 38 inches.
You can adjust the size of the blanket by altering these Sts according to your requirement.
Start with any number Multiple of 6 + 3 Chs extra for the turning Ch.
Round 2:-
1DC in the 3rd Ch from the hook.
1DC each in the remaining Sts.
Once you reach end, Ch 2 and use the Straight Edge Turning Ch method to make the Turning Ch.
Straight Edge Turning Ch:-
