How to Make Easy Crochet Autumn Flower Placemats


Crocheted Placemats are a fun ,functional and easy crocheting projects. Crochet placemats are a great way to add a bit of your own Handmade Touch and Style to your dining table. Placemats are the  most versatile projects to try out. They can be made with multiple and various type yarns and color codes that can fit almost any table setting.

What comes to your mind when you think of Autumn and Fall? Pretty and Gorgeous Colors all around. Keeping the Autumn and Fall colors in mind, I crocheted these Autumn and Fall themed Placemats. Today am sharing the pattern for Easy Crochet Autumn Flower Placemats. The pattern is very easy to make. It is made by crocheting a Seamless Crochet Circle. The autumn flowers are added to the border of the placemat.

You can easily adjust the size of these crochet placemats and make them small or as large as you wish to make. Elevate your table set ups with beautiful festive handmade Crochet Fall Placemats.




Materials Used:-
4 Ply Cotton Knitting Yarn 
4 mm Crochet Hook

Size:-
8 inches - Customizable to any size

Notes:-
For this whole Pattern, the Starting Chain 2 is not counted as a stitch. It is Just to bring the yarn to a working height. Start the next stitch in the same stitch.

Lets Start...!!!

Round 1:-
Start with a Magic Circle.
12 Double Crochets in the circle.
Pull the yarn end to close the gap.
Slip Stitch on top of the first Double Crochet.
12 Stitches.



Round 2:-

Chain 2.
2 Double Crochets in each stitch around.
Slip stitch on top of the first Double Crochet.
24 stitches.



Round 3:-

Chain 2. 1 Double Crochet in the same stitch.
2 Double Crochets in the next stitch.
Repeat*(1DC, 2DC).
Slip Stitch on top of the first Double Crochet.
36 Stitches. 



Round 4:-
Chain 2. 
1 Double Crochet each in 2 stitches.
2 Double Crochets in the next stitch.
Repeat*(1DC*2, 2DC)
Slip Stitch on top of the first Double Crochet.
48 Stitches.



Round 5:-
Chain 2. 
1 Double Crochet each in 3 stitches.
2 Double Crochets in the next stitch.
Repeat*(1DC*3, 2DC)
Slip Stitch on top of the first Double Crochet.
Change color while making the slip stich.
60 Stitches.

If you wish to larger size placemat, then follow the below mentioned increase pattern:-
Start each round with Chain 2(Not counted as a stitch)
Round 6--DC 4, 2DC in next stitch(72)
Round 7--DC 5, 2DC in next stitch(84) 
Round 8--DC 6, 2DC in next stitch(96)
 .....and so on.



Round 6:-
Chain 4.
1 Double Crochet in the same stitch.(here the starting Chain 2 will be counted as a Double Crochet and the remaining 2 Stitches will be counted as Chain 2 Space- that's the 1st Double Crochet V-Stitch made.)
Skip 2 Stitches.
1 Double Crochet V-Stitch in the next stitch(i.e (1Double Crochet , Chain 2, 1 Double Crochet in the same stitch).
Skip 2 stitches.
Repeat((1DC V-St(i.e (1DC,Ch2,1DC in the same St)), Sk2,)
Once you reach the end , make a Slip Stitch into the 2nd Chain.




Round 7:-
Slip Stitch into the Chain 2 Space.
Chain 2.(not counted as a stitch)
**1 Popcorn Stitch.
(Chain 2, 1 Single Crochet into the middle of the Popcorn Stitch)*4
Chain 2.
1 Single Crochet in between the 2 V-Stitches.
Chain 2**
Repeat from ** to ** .
Slip stitch into the first Popcorn stitch and weave off.

To make a Pop Corn stitch:-
  1. Make 5 double crochet stitches in the same stitch.
  2. Drop the loop from your hook.
  3. Insert your hook in the first double crochet you made.
  4. Grab the dropped loop with your hook and pull it through the stitch.
  5. That's one Popcorn stitch made.
















Here is the Summary of the Pattern:-

Round 1:-
Start with a Magic Circle.
12DCs in the circle.
Pull the yarn end to close the gap.
SL on top of the first DC.
12 Sts.

Round 2:-
Ch2.
2DCs in each St around.
SL on top of the first DC.
24 Sts.

Round 3:-
Ch2. 1DC in the same St.
2DCs in the next St.
Repeat*(1DC,2DC).
SL on top of the first DC.
36 Sts. 

Round 4:-
Ch2. 
1DC each in 2 Sts.
2DCs in the next St.
Repeat*(1DC*2,2DC)
SL on top of the first DC.
48 Sts.

Round 5:-
Ch2. 
1DC each in 3 Sts.
2DCs in the next St.
Repeat*(1DC*3,2DC)
SL on top of the first DC.
Change color while making the SLich.
60 Sts.

If you wish to larger size placemat, then follow the below mentioned increase pattern:-
Start each round with Ch2(Not counted as a St)
Round 6--DC 4, 2DC in next St(72)
Round 7--DC 5, 2DC in next St(84) 
Round 8--DC 6, 2DC in next St(96)
 .....and so on.

Round 6:-
Ch4.
1DC in the same St.(here the starting Ch2 will be counted as a DC and the remaining 2 Sts will be counted as Ch2 Space- that's the 1st DC V-St made.)
Skip 2 Sts.
1DC V-St in the next St(i.e (1DC,Ch2,1DC in the same St).
Skip 2 Sts.
Repeat((1DC V-St(i.e (1DC,Ch2,1DC in the same St)),Sk2,)
Once you reach the end , make a SL into the 2nd Ch.

Round 7:-
SL into the Ch2 Space.
Ch2.(not counted as a St)
**1 Popcorn St.
(Ch2, 1 SC into the middle of the Popcorn St)*4
Ch2.
1 SC in between the 2 V-Sts.
Ch2**
Repeat from ** to ** .
SL into the first Popcorn St and weave off.

To make a Pop Corn St:-
Make 5 DC Sts in the same St.
