Learn How To Crochet Washcloth With Even Moss Stitch



Crochet washcloths make a fantastic First Crochet Project and also they are fun to make for experienced crocheters. The Crochet Washcloth patterns are often easy to make with simple crochet stitches and they work up really quick. They also make great gifts for friends and family be it any occasion.

Today am sharing the pattern for Crochet Washcloth With Even Moss Stitch. It’s a super easy stitch pattern that uses Half Double Crochets and Slip Stitches. The Even Moss stitch creates a lovely textured finish.

Crocheted Washcloth patterns are super versatile. You can easily customize the size according to your need just by changing the starting number of chains. You can also use any yarn of your choice but When it comes to Washcloths, cotton yarn is the best yarn to use.




Materials Used:-
8 Ply Cotton Yarn 
5 mm Crochet Hook

9 inches - Customizable to any size

HDC - Half Double Crochet

Lets Start .... !!!

Round 1:-
Start with a slip knot.
Chain 32.
You can increase or decrease these starting chain stitches to make it according to the size needed. 
Start with any Multiple of 2.

Round 2:-
1 Half Double Crochet in the 3rd Chain from the hook.
1 Slip Stitch in the next stitch.
Repeat(1HDC, 1SL)
Once you reach end, Chain 2 and use the Straight Edge Turning Chain to make the Turning Chain.

Straight Edge Turning Chain:-
Usually you would Chain 2, turn and start working the next round. Here is a quick tip to have a nice straight edge .
  • Insert the hook into the 1st chain from the bottom.
  • Yarn over and pull up a loop. You should have 2 loops on the hook.
  • Turn your project and insert the hook into the first stitch.
  • Yarn over and pull up a loop. You will have 3 loops on the hook.
  • Lastly, yarn over and pull through all the 3 loops.
  • This will make one Half Double Crochet.

Round 3:-
1 Half Double Crochet is already made with the Turning Chain.
1 Slip Stitch in the next stitch.
Repeat(1HDC, 1SL)
Once you reach end, Chain 2 and use the Straight Edge Turning Chain mentioned in the previous round to make the Turning Chain.

Round 4 Onwards:-
Keep Repeating Round 3 untill its Square in shape or untill the size needed and Weave off.

Here is the Summary of the Pattern:-

Round 1:-

Repeat(1HDC, 1SL)
Once you reach end, Ch 2 and use the Straight Edge Turning Ch mentioned in the previous round to make the Turning Ch.

Round 4 Onwards:-
Keep Repeating Round 3 untill its Square in shape or untill the size needed and Weave off.
