Coffee Crochet Mug Cozy Mothers Day Gift Ideas

Even though Mother’s Day is just around the corner, there’s definitely still time to make something extra special for Mom this year. And what would be more extra special than something handmade! Create a handmade Mother’s Day gift to show them your love and appreciation.

Today am sharing a quick Coffee Mug Cozy pattern. I have used only Single Crochets, so this would be a perfect option for even a complete beginner. This easy crochet mug cozy works up really fast and you can easily make this in less than an hour.

Materials Used:-

8 Ply Cotton Yarn

4mm Crochet Hook

Lets Start...!!!

Start with a Slip Knot and Chain 15.

You can change the size of the cozy by changing these starting number of chains.

1 Single Crochet in the 2nd Chain from the hook.

1 Single Crochet each in rest of the stitches.

Once you reach the end, Chain 1 and Turn you work to star the next row.

Repeat 1 Single Crochet in each stitch untill its around 9 to 10 inches.

Border:-

Once you reach the size needed, change color for the border.

Chain 1.

3 Single Crochets in the same stitch.(1st Corner)

Repeat 1 Single Crochet in each of the remaining stitches untill the next corner.

3 Single Crochets in the corner stitch.

Repeat(1 SC in each stitch untill corner, 3 SC in corner) untill the last side.

Fold the cozy and gauge the mid point for making the Button loop.

1 Single each untill the midpoint.

Chain 7.

1 Single Crochet in the same stitch.

You can change the size of this loop according the size of the button you are using.

1 Single Crochet each in rest of the stitches.

Slip stitch on top of the First Single Crochet and weave off.

Using a Yarn needle , sew the Button on the opposite side of the loop

Flower Applique Pattern:-

Start with a Magic Circle.

*Chain 2.

1 Double Crochet Cluster stitch.

Chain 2.

Slip Stitch into the Magic circle.*

Repeat from * to * untill you have 5 petals.

Using a yarn Needle stitch this flower applique on top of the cozy.
