Lilac Coral Crochet Doily

Here is a lovely way to add a personal touch to your home decor. Crochet Doily patterns are the most versatile project you can make. You can use them as Tablemats...Placemats....Table runners....wall hanging art or use a larger size Hook and Yarn and make them into Crochet rugs.

Today am sharing the pattern for this pretty Lilac Coral Crochet Doily. I have used two shades of color. You can make yours with any combination of colors. The size of this doily can be altered according to your choice. The stitches used are very basic hence it would also be a great beginner friendly project. They would also make awesome gifts for your loved ones.

Materials Used:-
4 Ply Cotton Knitting Yarn
4mm Crochet Hook

Size:- 15 Inches( Can be customized to any size)

Notes:-
For this whole Pattern, the Starting Chain 2 is not counted as a stitch. It is Just to bring the yarn to a working height. Start the next stitch in the same stitch.

Here is the Video Tutorial:-

Lets Start...!!!

Round 1:-
Start with a Magic Circle.
12 Double Crochets in the Circle.
Pull the yarn end to close the loop.
Slip stitch on top of the First Double Crochet.
12 Stitches.

Alternative Start :-
Instead of the Starting 12 Double Crochet, you can also directly start with this round.
In the Video Tutorial I have started with this round.
Start with a Magic Circle(same as above)

Chain 4(the starting Chain 2 will be Counted as 1 Double Crochet , and the remaining stitches will be counted as Chain 2 space.
1 Double Crochet.
Chain 2
Repeat(1DC, Ch 2) untill you have 12 Chain Spaces.

Round 2:-
Chain 2.
1 Front Post Double Crochet in the same stitch.
2 Double Crochets in the next Chain Space.
Repeat(1FPDC, 2DC)
Slip Stitch on top of the First Front Post Double Crochet.
36 Stitches.

Round 3:-
Chain 4(the starting Chain 2 will be Counted as 1 Double Crochet , and the remaining stitches will be counted as Chain 2 space.
Skip 1.

Chain 2
Repeat(1DC, Skip 1, Ch 2).
Slip Stitch into the 2nd Chain.

Round 4:-

1 Double Crochet Cluster in the same stitch.
Chain 2.
Skip 1.
Repeat(1DC Cluster, Ch 2, Skip 1)
Slip stitch on top of the First Double Crochet Cluster.
27 Clusters.

To Make a Double Crochet Cluster Stitch:-
  1. Yarn over, insert the hook into the stitch, yarn over and pull through 2 loops on the hook.(This is same as doing a Double Crochet Stitch. It is just that , you don't finish the Double Crochet Stitch and continue doing the first part of the Double Crochet Stitch again and again). You should have 2 loops on the hook.
  2. Yarn over, insert the hook in the same stitch, yarn over and pull through 2 loops. You should have 3 loops on the hook.
  3. Continue with the first part of Double Crochet stitch untill you have 4 loops on the hook.
  4. Yarn over and draw the yarn through all 4 loops on the hook.
  5. Chain 1.

Round 6:-
Chain 2.
1 Front Post Double Crochet on the Cluster.
2 Double Crochets in the next Chain Space.
Repeat(1FPDC, 2DC)
Slip Stitch on top of the First Front Post Double Crochet.
81 Stitches.

Round 7:-
Chain 3.
Skip 2.
1 Single Crochet in the next stitch.
Repeat(Ch 3, Skip 2, 1 SC)
Round 8:-

4 Double Crochets in the space.
Repeat 4 Double Crochets in each of the Chain spaces.
Slip Stitch on top of the First Double Crochet.
108 Stitches.

1 Double Crochet each in the next 8 stitches.
Repeat((1DC,1FPDC), 1DC*8).
Slip Stitch on top of the First Double Crochet.
Change color while making the Slip Stitch.
120 Stitches.

If you wish to make the Doily bigger, Keep repeating this increase round untill you reach the size needed. The increase pattern would be as below:-

((1DC,1FPDC), 1DC*9).... 132 Stitches
((1DC,1FPDC), 1DC*10)..... 144 Stitches
((1DC,1FPDC), 1DC*11)..... 156 Stitches...... and so on!!
